Josh was absolutely one of the best workaways we’ve had in the last few years!
He was very friendly and polite, and integrated himself into our family really well. He would help us out with some renovation work or take care of the kids. Our older boy, Oskar, still talks about him and says that his best friend of all time is Josh. They would spend
… read more time together at home and also go out on day trips. Josh was also quick on his feet when the smaller one, Viktor, was around, and would keep the peace between the two kids.
Josh is also a really good cook and we enjoyed a lot of his meals.
He’s welcome to come back anytime to see Germany in its warmer months and we would absolutely recommend him to anyone looking for a workaway.

I had a fantastic time staying with Mila and Philippe for a month. Everyone at the house was friendly and it was easy to connect with all of them. The location of the property is very scenic and within short travel distance of Freiburg and other beautiful spots around the Black Forest, France and Switzerland. There were no issues communicating
… read more with anyone and they were accomodating with anything I needed, as well as helping me get around to see places on free days.
A lot of time was spent helping out with the children, Oskar and Viktor, although it doesn't feel much like work because they are really sweet kids and fun to hang out with! There was also work to do with renovations in the farm house and general tasks around the farm.

We had an absolutely lovely experience with Maika. She was kind, entertaining, and always willing and happy to help with any tasks we had at home. She mainly spent time with the baby and he was absolutely in love with her (for a few days after she left, he would sit at the door to her room and search for her); they played really well, went out for
… read more walks often, and had an overall really good time ;)
Maik was also really good in communicating with us about her tasks and working times; she would be at our house in the afternoons and did German classes in the mornings (her German was already quite good upon coming here, but got even better after two weeks!).
She was not only a great workaway, but also became a friend during the time that she was here. We're hoping she comes back and that we're able to keep in touch in the future!

I couldn’t be more thankful after my stay in Freiburg. It has been a wonderful experience, I’ve been in a place surrounded by nature, animals and in a good atmosphere, specially because of the charming family composed by Oskar, Mila, Phillippe, Regis, Korina, … and Teo. I spent very good times with all family members. They made me feel so
… read more comfortable from the beginning (like home), and they’ve always been willing to learn, share food, knowledge… (I think I actually improved my German there!) I specially highlight their open-mindness and flexibility at work-timetable. My task was to take care of Oskar (a very cheerful baby who I will really miss), clean or cook. I worked in the afternoon, and in the morning I studied German in the city. I could move around with one of their bicycles or with the bus-pass that Philippe's mother lent me. Not only I worked but also I was immersed in their culture, I felt included in plans and I met truly interesting friends. Freiburg has now a big space in my heart. I absolutely recommed this experience.

Our stay with Mila, Philipp and Oscar was really nice. We felt like at home at their place, the room was really comfortable and the invitations of sharing food and family celebrations together were super friendly. Fernando helped constructing the roof, I cared about the Baby and cooked and cleaned some times. You can go outside with Oskar (the

I've had such a nice time with Mila, Phillippe and Oskar (+ Theo, Luna, Phillipp's parents, the little chickens and all the other people and animals from and around the Peterhof).
They were very friendly and relaxed hosts who always made sure that I felt comfortable at their home and had a good balance between working and free time. I could go
… read more for a lot of nice walks in the beautiful forests surrounding their village and sometimes Phillippe's mother lent me her annual pass for the public transport so I could go on little trips or visit my relatives.
It made me so happy to wake up everyday and find Oskar smiling in the living room and to spend the day with him :) He is a very open hearted, cheerful and interactive little boy who will enchant you quickly, when you go there. I would highly recommand this project to anyone who likes to spend time with babies and animals.

Soraya stayed with us for over a month this spring and it was an absolutely wonderful experience! She is completely open, accepting, flexible, kind, dedicated... can only think of positives. She adapted completely to our house and was ready to help with anything we had going on - whether it was staying with the baby, taking care of newborn chicks,
… read more or doing chores outdoors.
She mainly took care of our 7 month old baby, and he could not have been happier. Although he was starting to get weary of strangers around that age, he took to her right away and didn’t even notice when we left the room! He would absolutely light up during his time with her and they spent their afternoons playing, singing, dancing, and laughing.
