Description
We are a family of two people and a lot of animals: dogs, cats, hens and sheep. We moved to the south of Chile three years ago. In Detif, a place of Lemuy Island, located in Chiloé. We came to this place for in integrating ourselves to the territory, recovering the forest and managing a space that supports our food and human needs. So we are constantly learning how to do it.
We live on 4 hectare bordering the beach, with an expanding young forest and grassland. We try to reproduce different agroecological practices with the materials provided by the environment, as the use of seaweed and guano in the crops. Our organic garden is about 500 mt2, where we have a lot of vegetables according to the season. And a greenhouse for species that require more care. Also, we plan to have an edible forest area and the reforestation of the native forest.
Futhermore, we are actively involved in various community activities on the island, as the Community Environmental Committee and others organizations.
