    Description

    Welcome to the family!

    OUR FAMILY:
👩🏻 Jessica (33), works as a folk high school teacher and is interested in arts and crafts and flea markets. Described as grounded, wise and funny.

🧔🏻‍♂️ Fabian (32) renovates old log houses according to traditional Scandinavian methods, and likes exercise and music. Described as carefree, helpful and kind.

🧑🏻 Wilton (11) is smart, funny and really likes computer games. He always has some construction project going on in Minecraft.

🧒🏼 Ebbe (7) is full of energy and loves to play! He too always has some construction project going on, preferably outdoors in our forest grove, or by making a castle with our indoor furnitures :)

    OUR ANIMALS
🐈 The cats Lova and Juni
🐕‍🦺 Mose the dog (a goldendoodle)
    🐏 Landrace sheep x 3
    🐓 Landrace chickens x 4
    🐇 Landrace rabbits x 2

The farm animals is primarily used for pasture and manure, eggs and wool production. And fluffy company! Only if necessary we take care of the meat.

    OUR HOUSE 🏡
Wooden house built in 1938, although the farm has older origins than that. We live on 223 square meters spread over two floors with five bedrooms, a kitchen, some common rooms, living room, a bathroom with shower, and a small toilet. We also have a full size attic and a basement with a small (and messy!) carpentry workshop.

    OUR GARDEN 🌱🌲🌻🫐🫛
Our land is 1 acre, with grass, meadow, crops, bushes and trees. On the farm there is a common barn, our earthen cellars and the little outbuildings for the animals. Around the farm there are forests, cow pastures, fields, dirt roads and we have a fantastic mountain view! We just started working on our dream garden including vegetables and a herb garden, all according to principles of regenerative permaculture.

    OUR EVERYDAY 📆
The children go to school, we adults work mon-fri. In the evenings and weekends, have activities in the form of gymnastics training, archery, ceramics, theater and soccer practice. But we also (really!) like to relax and enjoy our time at home, being outside, exploring nature, watching TV, reading, playing board games or doing something creative.

    OUR LIFESTYLE 🧘🏻‍♀️🌍♻️
We moved here two years ago, after a lifetime in the big city. Here, we want to slow down after a burn out and live more simply, close to the nature. We are learning more day by day about self-sustaining and we’re looking forward to what this little 1-acre farm life has in store for us. We believe in creating the best possible future for our selves and mostly our children, with the smallest carbon footprint possible.

Here you can start to learn, or keep practicing the swedish language. You get to try out creating a homestead and a family life in the northern part of Sweden

We happen to live in a location with interesting history and places, wich we will take you to see!

    The rock-carving Museum.
Nämforsen is a site of one of the largest collections of rock-carvings in Europe.

    The Witch Museum.
”The great commotion" was a short but intense period of witch hysteria that lasted between 1668-1676. A total of 71 people were beheaded and burned on Häxberget in Kramfors municipality. Those executed were convicted of sorcery. It was claimed that they traveled to Blåkulla and lived a sinful life together with the devil. It is Sweden's largest documented mass execution in peacetime and was carried out with the support of current legislation.

    Västernorrland's museum.
Located on Murberget in Härnösand. Here there is a modern museum building with exhibitions, a shop and an open-air museum with houses and environments from the 19th and 20th centuries.

    The High Coast.
The region is known for its unique landscape, characterized by towering cliffs, deep valleys, and a rugged coastline that rises dramatically from the sea. The High Coast is a popular destination for outdoor activities such as hiking, kayaking, and rock climbing, as well as cultural events such as music festivals and art exhibitions. The region is also home to several nature reserves and national parks, including Skuleskogen National Park, which boasts some of the highest coastal mountains in Sweden. In 2000, the High Coast was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in recognition of its outstanding natural beauty and geological significance.

If you want, we’re happy to let you know more about the Scandinavium folk high schools* (Jessica) and how to renovate old log houses according to traditional Scandinavian methods (Fabian).

    * Folk high schools are a unique form of adult education that originated in Scandinavia in the 19th century. They are open to anyone over the age of 18, regardless of educational background or previous experience. The curriculum typically includes a range of subjects such as arts, culture, social sciences, and practical skills. The emphasis is on learning for personal growth and development rather than for career advancement. Folk high schools are often residential and offer a supportive and inclusive learning environment. In an international context, folk high schools are seen as a model for lifelong learning and community education.

Ådalen is a region located in the northern part of Sweden, specifically in the county of Västernorrland.

    UNDROM (5 km)
The village is known for its scenic beauty, with lush forests, rolling hills, and picturesque rivers. It is a popular destination for outdoor activities such as hiking, fishing, and skiing. There are some acitivities here hosted by villagers such as yard sales, movie nights, book circles and gatherings by our little beach. We also have a small food store, a library, a school and a church. And lots of farmers :)

Our nearest town with several stores, hotel, bus station and cultural events such as art exhibitions and library.
