Description
Location: São Bartolomeu de Messines, Algarve
Dates: March – April.
Monday to Friday – approx. 3 hours per day
Free accommodation + €5 per hour payment (in line with Portuguese minimum wage)
This is a peaceful countryside property surrounded by nature.
The property sits on 24 hectors with five lakes and sits at the foot of a viewpoint. The local town messines is only five minutes away and can provide all that you need.
We are looking for friendly and hands on, reliable people to help with light practical tasks.
Daily tasks include

Culturally it sits near a very quintessentially Portuguese town. Even though there are connections to major cities and coastal towns. Messines offers everything somebody would need. A great place to learn anything and everything truly Portuguese

Lorenzo and I stayed at Quinta two weeks last August and we enjoyed a lot the experience: Charlie and Lucy were really lovely with us and we surely recommend this fantastic place People who spent their travel with us were fantastic too.

What an experience to have Lorenzo and Matteo around! These two brought definitely a lot of fun and laughter to our Quinta. During their two week stay they helped us mainly with gardening. Lily and Ella stayed at our Quinta for four weeks. Within that time, they took marvelous care of our animals. Especially the dogs were in for a treat. They were not only taken for daily walks to the viewpoint, taught acrobatics, and served delicious food, but Lily and Ella also provided an outstanding spa experience for them.

Jean was part of the Quinta for almost three weeks. She helped us a lot by cleaning our guesthouse as well as taking care of the horses. She worked very independently and to a high standard. We could totally rely on her. Besides her work ethic she was a great person to be around: friendly, chill and funny.

Lotta and Marietta stayed at the Quinta for 3,5 weeks. Their main tasks consisted of taking care of the animals (🐎&🐓) as well as painting. They improved constantly their ability, which made it easy for us to let the girls work on their own. They are both easy to get along with and happy to learn new skills. We’d recommend them to other hosts.

Farah was sociable, helpful and friendly. Her primary role was to cook food for all at the Quinta which was very good. She also helped out with other jobs using her own initiative. Would definitely recommend Farah as a Workawayer.
