THE PROJECT, THE BEAUTIFUL HOUSE, AND LIVING AS A FAMILY:
Our social project’s main goal is to support people who, for various reasons (depression, mental health challenges, addictions, etc.), are going through difficult times, and to help those who have decided not to give up, but to move forward and rebuild their lives.
We are not an institution, nor do we receive support from the Andalusian government or any other organization. Therefore, the way we sustain this project is through the events we organize on weekends at the house, (events such as personal development workshops, weddings, communions, dinners, and more). Where both residents and volunteers helping on them. In addition, we also rent out some rooms.
If you are looking for a place to contribute five hours of work and then travel, this might not be the best fit:
The village is beautiful, but it is quite remote and not well connected by bus to other towns, making it difficult to get around daily.
The association needs volunteers who wish to fully immerse themselves in the experience of living in this house. This means more hours of contribution and greater flexibility. We are looking for people who will fall in love with the project itself rather than with traveling around the area — people who truly want to live the beautiful experience with us.
What makes this project so beautiful is that we are in an idyllic setting — a large, charming house with a garden and a swimming pool (open all year round). You’ll also be able to take part in sports, personal development therapies, and the courses regularly offered at the house.
You can contribute according to your skills, but flexibility is important, as tasks may change depending on what the house needs at any given time. These are the volunteer roles we usually need or currently have available:
1) Trainers / Workshop Leaders
People who have a specific skill or trade they can teach at the house, such as:
- Carpentry, pottery, blacksmithing, masonry, plumbing, metalwork, etc.
- Other types of workshops: handmade candles, essential oils, crafts, jewelry and accessories, sewing, teaching languages (if you are english teacher), etc.
- Courses related to personal development are currently NOT needed, as that area is already covered.
2) Versatile and Flexible Volunteers:
Helping to maintain the house in everyday tasks (kitchen, garden, cleaning, solidarity shop, weekend events, rooms, etc.). Tasks may vary from day to day depending on your experience and, above all, where help is most needed at the time.
These positions are limited.
3) Gardener:
We currently need one gardener who not only knows how to water plants but also how to prune, transplant, and care for them properly.
4) Cleaning:
We are also looking for someone used to or with professional experience in cleaning for the rooms and the house in general (which is very large) — halls, stairs, etc. This should be someone who enjoys cleaning as their main task, since this role is not currently covered by a permanent volunteer.
At the moment, we are around 10 to 20 people living in the house — between residents and volunteers — sharing spaces and daily activities. The number changes constantly due to the variety of visitors, friends, and volunteers who come and go. The doors of our project are always open, so you will constantly see new faces and meet new people, especially on weekends when we host events.
Our house has been active since the year 2000, and since then, many volunteers have passed through, leaving behind their help, love, and essence.
Although we call it a “house,” when you arrive you’ll realize it’s a very special and very large building — it can take a while to explore it all without getting lost! There are many different areas and stairways. Some of these include:
The communal living area: rooms, bathrooms, and lounge.

The restaurant, the yurt, the museum, etc.
Rental rooms and apartments.
Yoga rooms.
And more.

LOCATION:
Our house is located in the small village of Alozaina, in the Sierra de las Nieves, about 50 km from the city of Málaga. Alozaina is a typical Andalusian mountain village with around 2,800 inhabitants.
It’s a peaceful and beautiful place with a health center, bars, local shops, and a supermarket.
Please note that there are only 2 to 3 buses per day (round trip) between Alozaina and Málaga. So while there is transportation, we are about an hour by car from the city — a little more remote, up in the mountains. The surroundings are spectacular, and the views are truly breathtaking.
This is a wonderful project where you can live and experience day-to-day life with us, contribute your bit to what we do, and share your joy and energy. It’s one of those projects where we come not only to help, but also to grow, learn, and take with us beautiful experiences — living together as the big family that we are.

*** EL PROYECTO, LA HERMOSA CASA Y VIVIR EN FAMILIA ***
Nuestro proyecto social tiene como principal objetivo el acompañamiento de personas que en diversas circunstancia, depresiones, salud mental, adicciones, etc. y la recuperación y reinserción de personas que han decidido no dejarse vencer por las serias dificultades de sus vidas, continuar hacia delante y progresar.
No somos una insttitución, no tenemos ayudas de la junta de Andalucía ni organismo alguno, por tanto la manera de llevar este proyecto adelante y auto-sustentarnos son los eventos que se realizan los fines de semana en la casa, eventos tales como desarrollo personal, bodas, comuniones, cenas, etc. en los que participan ayudando tanto los acogidos como los voluntarios de la casa, Y por otro lado disponemos de habitaciones de alquiler.
Si buscas un lugar donde aportar 5 horas de ayuda en tareas, y luego viajar, este no es el mejor lugar para ello:
1 - El pueblo es precioso, sin embargo está muy apartado y mal combinado en cuanto autobuses con el resto de los otros pueblos, para moverte en el día a día.
2 - La asociación necesita voluntarios que quieran venir a vivir la experiencia inmersiva de la casa en sí, luego son más horas de tareas, más flexibilidad requerida, buscamos personas que se enamoren del proyecto, más que de viajar por la zona en sí, y quieran vivir la experiencia hermosa por completo con nosotros.
Lo hermoso de este proyecto es que estamos en un entorno idílico, en una casa grande y hermosa con jardín y piscina (abierta todo el año), y podrás participar del deporte y terapias de desarrollo personal y cursos que se imparten regularmente en la casa.
Podrás aportar según tus conocimientos, aunque también será necesario la flexibilidad de cambiar de actividad, según lo que la casa vaya necesitando en cada momento, estos son los voluntariados que solemos necesitar o necesitamos actualmente:
1) Voluntarios formadores, personas que tengan alguna especialidad que puedan formar en la casa como por ejemplo:
* Carpintería, cerámica, forja, albañilería,fontanería, herrería, etc.
* Otros cursos como: Velas artesanales, aceites esenciales, artesanías, bisutería y accesorios artesanales, costura, etc.
* Las formaciones y cursos relacionados con el desarrollo personal para la casa, actualmente está todo cubierto. NO se necesitan.
2) Voluntarios polivalentes y flexibles: Ayudar a mantener la casa en el día a día (cocina, jardín, limpieza, tienda solidaria, eventos de fin de semana, habitaciones, etc.), cada día pueden ir variando las tareas, según tu experiencia y sobretodo donde más se necesite ayuda en ese momento. Estas plazas están limitadas.
3) Actualmente necesitamos 1 jardinero/a que sepa no sólo de regar, sino de poda, transplante de plantas, etc.
4) Actualmente necesitamos alguien acostumbrado o con experiencia profesional para LIMPIEZA para las habitaciones y la casa en general (que es muy grande), salas, escaleras, etc., es decir tiene que ser alguien que disfrute de que su única tarea sea limpiar, ya que ese puesto ahora mismo no está cubierto con voluntariado fijo.
Actualmente, somos alrededor de 10 a 20 personas viviendo en la casa, entre residentes y voluntarios, vivimos juntos compartiendo espacio y actividades. El número va cambiando continuamente por la gran variedad de visitas, amigos y voluntarios que pasan por aquí. Las puertas de nuestro proyecto están abiertas y verás continuamente nuevas caras y conocerás nueva gente, especialmente los fines de semana, cuando organizamos los eventos.
Nuestra casa lleva en funcionamiento desde el año 2000 y desde entonces muchos voluntarios y voluntarias han pasado por aquí, dejando su ayuda, amor y su esencia.
Aunque hablemos de una casa, cuando vengas comprenderás que es un edificio muy especial y muy grande. ¡Cuesta un poco recorrerlo entero sin perderse! Hay muchas zonas y escaleras. Algunos de estos sitios son:
* La zona donde hacemos vida común: Habitaciones, baños, salita de descanso, etc.
La zona del comedor y salón de estar con tv.
* El jardín y piscina.
* Los talleres.
* La tienda solidaria.
* El restaurante, la Yurta, el museo, etc.
* Habitaciones y apartamentos de alquiler.
* Salas de Yoga.
Etc.
Nota importante: Por favor tener en cuenta, que es importante poder hablar y comunicarse a diario en español, ya que en la comunidad a penas hay personas que hablen inglés.
**UBICACIÓN**
Nuestra casa se encuentra en el pequeño pueblo de Alozaina, en la Sierra de las Nieves, a unos 50 Km de la ciudad de Málaga. Alozaina es un pequeño pueblo típico de la sierra de Andalucía, donde viven unas 2.800 personas.
Es un pueblo precioso, tranquilo con centro de salud, bares, tiendas locales, supermercado, etc.
Tener en cuenta que la combinación Alozaina-Málaga, son 2 o 3 autobuses de ida y vuelta al día, es decir, hay buena comunicación, pero estamos a 1 hora de coche de la ciudad, algo más apartados a la montaña. El lugar es espectacular y sus vistas son cautivadoras.
Este es un proyecto hermoso para vivir y experimentar el día a día con nosotros, aportar tu granito de arena a lo que hacemos y tu alegría y disposición. Es uno de esos proyectos, donde venimos no sólo a ayudar, sino que nos nutrimos y llevamos bonitas experiencias y aprendizajes, conviviendo todos como la gran familia que somos.

Here you will have your own bed and room (depending on availability you may share or be on your own).
There is a room for male volunteers and a room for female volunteers, and each room has several beds or bunk beds.
As for food, there is plenty of healthy food for your breakfasts, lunches and dinners (7 days a week), and the toilets and showers are close to the bedrooms.
The bathrooms and showers are close to the bedrooms, and we have wifi! although there are parts of the house where it doesn't reach very well.

Aquí contarás con tu propia cama y una habitación (dependiendo de la disponibilidad te puede tocar compartir o estar solo).
Hay una habitación para hombres voluntarios y otra para mujeres voluntarias, y cada una tiene varias camas o literas.
Con respecto a la comida, hay mucha y es muy sana, para tus desayunos, almuerzos y cenas (7 días a la semana).
Los baños y duchas están cerca de los dormitorios. ¡Y además tenemos wifi! aunque hay partes de la casa a las que no llega muy bien.
