Description
The farm is a working food forest in Western Uganda, growing both Arabica and Robusta coffee alongside a variety of fruits and vegetables. The farm uses natural, sustainable practices and offers a hands-on learning environment for those interested in coffee production, agroforestry, and rural life in Africa.
My experience includes studies at Makerere College. I have volunteered with World Wide Opportunity on Organic Farms for over 10 years.
Workawayers will take part in daily farm activities such as planting, pruning, harvesting, field work, learning about different plants and their uses, and supporting small community projects. Tasks are done with the local community, with plenty of opportunity to share skills and learn from one another.
It’s common to spot wildlife nearby, from monkeys and elephants to many bird species that are found only in Uganda.

Workawayers will experience rural life in Western Uganda, Kasese region. You are encourage to participate in community activities while working alongside my team. Through cultural exchange, Workawayers will learn about local customs, food and village life. Additionally, you will learn patience and respect for doing things differently than your home country. We hope that you share your traditions and provide us with different ideas as well. Finally, you will leave with extensive knowledge about local plants that include Papaya, Jackfruit, Passionfruit, Starfruit, Mangoes, Coconut, and many more in addition to Coffee and Cocoa.

Aide
I have 10+ local workers on the farm that may or may not be working alongside Workawayers. Daily tasks include planting, pruning, harvesting, and drying coffee. You will be learning from the local workers and sharing any expertise that you have. The best way to learn is through hands-on experience, if you enjoy the outdoors please consider coming to my farm.
