  Description

  We are a married couple, Manfred, 65 years old, Astrid, 63 years old and live in a village with 130 inhabitants in Dithmarschen, Schleswig-Holstein, in the countryside. Manfred produces handicraft products made of wood, mostly sustainable and with many upcycling ideas. Environmental awareness and resource-saving living is important to us. We both think very environmentally conscious and try to live as sustainably as possible. We are passionate about creative, artistically active, trying out a lot of craftsmanship. Our garden is quite big and is one of our hobbies. Our dog Barney, a Border Collie, unfortunately does not like small children, so we can only let adults live with us.
  Nature walks and time by the sea are part of our everyday life. We live slowly, without hectic and relatively modest.
  
  Wir sind ein Ehepaar, Manfred, 65 Jahre alt, Astrid, 63 Jahre alt und leben in einem Dorf mit 130 Einwohnern in Dithmarschen, Schleswig-Holstein, auf dem Land auf einem Resthof. Manfred stellt handwerkliche Produkte aus Holz her, meistens nachhaltig und mit vielen Upcycling-Ideen. Umweltbewusst und ressourcenschonend leben ist uns dabei wichtig. Beide denken wir sehr umweltbewusst und versuchen, möglichst nachhaltig zu leben. Wir sind leidenschaftlich gern kreativ, künstlerisch tätig, probieren handwerklich viel aus. Unser Garten ist ziemlich groß und gehört zu unseren Hobbies. Unser Hund Barney, ein Border Collie, mag leider keine kleinen Kinder, so dass wir nur Erwachsene bei uns wohnen lassen können.
  Naturspaziergänge und Zeit am Meer gehören zu unserem Alltag. Wir leben langsam, ohne Hektik und relativ bescheiden.

  We are very creative and make a lot of things. With us you learn a lot about sustainability and upcycling and can learn a lot about craftsmanship in dealing with wood and glass. Culturally, you can learn to live in the countryside and near the sea: peace, closeness to nature, relaxation. We cook traditionally German.
  
  Wir sind sehr kreativ und basteln viel. Bei uns lernt man viel über Nachhaltigkeit und Upcycling und kann handwerklich im Umgang mit Holz und Glas viel lernen. Kulturell kann man das Leben auf dem Land und in der Nähe des Meeres lernen: Ruhe, Naturnähe, Entspannung. Wir kochen traditionell deutsch.

  Aide

  For our garden, we are looking for people who can work a bit harder. Chopping wood, mowing the lawn, cutting hedge, digging are among the activities.
  
  Für unseren Garten suchen wir Menschen, die auch ein bisschen schwerer arbeiten können. Holzhacken, Rasenmähen, Hecke schneiden, Graben gehören zu den Tätigkeiten.

  Hébergement

  In the upper part of the house we have two own rooms, kitchen and bath for workawayers. However, the floorboards creak while running. The equipment is relatively simple. The house is noisy, but cozy and warm.
  
  Our guests can eat together with us. There are mostly traditional German dishes. But the guest also has his own small kitchen if he wants to cook for himself.
  
  Wir haben im oberen Teil des Hauses zwei eigene Zimmer, Küche und Bad für Workawayers. Allerdings knarren die Bodendielen beim Laufen. Die Ausstattung ist relativ einfach. Das Haus ist hellhörig, aber gemütlich und warm.
  
  Unsere Gäste können gemeinsam mit uns essen. Es gibt meistens traditionell deutsche Gerichte. Aber der Gast hat auch eine eigene kleine Küche zur Verfügung, falls er sich selber etwas kochen möchte.

  ˋWe live about 25 km from the North Sea, Meldorf, away. There you can surf, stand-up padling etc. Büsum, about 30 km away, by the sea, is a tourist place and offers all the pleasures. The next largest city, Heide in Schleswig-Holstein, has 20 thousand inhabitants and is 14 km away. There are all shopping possibilities, cinema, etc. By train from Heide you can make a day trip to Sylt. Hamburg is an hour's drive away by car.
  Right here in town you can cycle and hiking.
  
  Wir wohnen circa 25 km von der Nordsee, Meldorf, entfernt. Dort kann man surfen, Stand-up-Padling etc. Büsum, circa 30 km entfernt, am Meer, ist ein touristischer Ort und bietet alle Vergnügungen. Die nächstgrößte Stadt, Heide in Schleswig-Holstein, hat 20 tausend Einwohner und ist 14 km entfernt. Dort gibt es alle Shopping-Möglichkeiten, Kino etc. Mit dem Zug ab Heide kann man einen Tagesausflug nach Sylt machen. Hamburg ist mit dem Auto 1 Stunde Fahrtzeit entfernt.
  
  Direkt hier am Ort kann man Radfahren und Wandern.
