Description
Hello! I work and live in the Great Bear Rainforest in the village of Hagensborg, BC, the traditional territory of the Nuxalk people. This place has captivated me for over 21 years.... it is breathtaking and awe inspiring. I have worked and guided in the outdoors here and would be happy to host and show you around! I spend a fair bit of time working away in the field, mostly in the summer and fall, and need someone to look after and love my kitties and my house. My house is small but I have a beautiful yard and garden, plus a separate building that houses my 'Zen Den'. It's meant for art, yoga or just being Zen. I have a 20 year female old senior cat, plus 2 realtivley new ones, 2 very sweet boy cats, both about 1 year old. One boy is a rescue and the other has only 3 legs, but it doesn't hold him back!!

Learn about the Nuxalk people who have lived here for thousands of years. The community where i live was settled by Norwegians in the late 1800's. Anything to do with the wilderness.... I used to own a grizzly bear viwieng and rafting company and currently work with the Central Coast Nations to enhance wild Pacific Salmon and am a member of Bella Coola Search and Rescue. During the summer is the Bella Coola Music Festival ( July), plus Farmers markets on Sundays, lots of local hiking trails, fishing, paddleboarding etc.
Aide
I need someone who can look after my cats and house while im away working (occasionally up to 2 weeks at a time, but more often 3-7 days). Cat care invloves feeding, litter box duty, playing and snuggling, but also administering some medications for my senior cat. House care would be just keeping it tidy and cutting the lawn once a week if I'm away, plus watering plants and garden. While I am at home, since we will be sharing a fairly small house, I ask that you are tidy, respectful of my home, non smoker, no drugs, non drinker (or just occasionally). My schedule for being away for work is variable and subject to last minute changes, so must be flexible too please!

Your own bedroom with queen bed. As I'm just asking for pet/ housesitting, you will be responsible for your own food. We can share meals or you can do your own thing or combination.

I live about 2 kms from the grocery store, and 1 km from gas stationand a great coffee house that is only open in the summer. There isn't a lot of other amenities close to my house as this is a very small remote town. 16 kms away rhere is another grocery store, bank, hardware store, hospital etc. There are no taxis but there is a bus service you need to book in advance. If you had a bicycle or car to get around that is ideal because everything is spread out, not concentrated in one area.

As im just looking for someone to hang out with my cats and be a presence at my house, it might work well for a digital nomad. I don't have a desk in the spare room though.
