  Hi, I’m Dario!
  
  I manage a non-profit nautical base in Porto Pollo, North Sardinia—a paradise for sailing and wind sports lovers. As a volunteer host, I’m excited to welcome enthusiastic individuals who want to contribute to our mission while enjoying the beauty of the sea and the Sardinian lifestyle.
  
  My role is to coordinate our team, ensure smooth operations, and create unforgettable experiences for our students and guests. I’m passionate about the sea, adventure, and cultural exchange, and I love meeting people from all over the world.   Who We’re Looking For
  
  We’re looking for motivated volunteers to help us run our non-profit sailing school and create a welcoming environment for our guests. Depending on your skills and interests, you can contribute in the following ways:
  
  1. MARCH 18th - mid JUNE
  🔹help for the opening of the nautical base. Preparation of sailboats and support dinghies; minor maintenance help; some gardening; short transfers of sailboats.
  
  2. IN EVERY PERIOD LISTED - For intermediate (or better) Italian speakers
  🔹Assistant to the Sailing Instructor
  
  FOR EVERY VOLOUNTEER
  🔹 Meals: Lunch and dinner are provided (vegetarian options available).
  🔹 Accommodation: Shared dormitory-style rooms with bunk beds, just steps from the beach.
  🔹Insurance Coverage: All volunteers are covered by UISP sport insurance and additional accident insurance.

  Hébergement

  Accommodation for Volunteers
  🔹 Sleeping Arrangements: Shared dormitory with 3 bunk beds and private bathroom.
  🔹 Meals: We provide lunch and dinner, typically consisting of pasta of the day, vedgetables and a protein (including vegetarian options).
  🔹 Location: Our 1st base is located in Porto Pollo, just a short walk from the beach and surrounded by nature. The 2nd base is in Dervio on Lake Como, Italy: it is a stunning mansion right on the waterfront with a wonderful field un ahead!
  
  While the accommodation is simple, the stunning location and community atmosphere
  make it a unique and rewarding experience!🌊🌞

  🔹 Free Sailing Course: Volunteers staying for a month or more receive a free weekly sailing course (valued at €900).
  🔹Insurance Coverage: All volunteers are covered by UISP sport insurance and additional accident insurance.

  When you’re not volunteering, there’s plenty to explore in Porto Pollo and beyond:
  🔹Beach Days: Relax on the local beach, swim in the crystal-clear waters, or soak up the Sardinian sun.
  🔹Water Sports: Try windsurfing, kite surfing, or paddleboarding.
  🔹Explore Sardinia: Visit nearby towns like Palau, take a boat trip to the Maddalena Archipelago, or hike in the surrounding nature.
  
  🚗 Transport Options
  The local area is well-connected by bus, but renting a car or scooter is highly recommended for more freedom and to explore further afield. The nearest town with larger services and shops is Palau, just a 15-minute drive away.
  
  How We Live & House Rules
  We value teamwork, respect, and a friendly atmosphere. Here’s what we ask of our volunteers:
  🔹Respect Shared Spaces: Keep common areas clean and tidy.
  🔹Kitchen Roster: Help with setting the table and cleanup on a rotating basis.
  🔹Quiet Hours: Observe quiet hours from 11 PM to 7:45 AM to ensure everyone gets enough rest.
  🔹Team Spirit: Be flexible, help each other out, and embrace the shared living experience.
