Help with some garden projects in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada

We are a professional couple living in Edmonton, Alberta. We are very busy with work and chores we enjoy so we are looking for someone to help out out with some work in our garden and perhaps some general tasks around the house. We are parents to 2 grown children, one of whom has participated in workaways in New Zealand so we are hoping to help someone out as they find their way in Canada.

Gordon is Canadian and is a big fan of the great outdoors and collecting "toys". I (Susan) am Irish but have been living in Canada for 36 years since I met Gord on my own travels in the Eighties and so stayed here. We do have a lake property we like to go to on weekends so we can offer someone a taste of both city life, and the more relaxed lake life, weather permitting.

Aide
We have been working on another project for the past 4 years or so and as such our garden has not been tended to as much as we would like.

We are looking for help to paint the fence, level a paving stone patio and clean up some flower beds. We could also do with repainting some rooms in our house as well so there is lots of work to be done. With that in mind we are open to singles, or couples looking to stay for a week or two (or more if needed).

We have two bedrooms with queen beds. We have a second TV room in the basement which travelers would be welcome to use and which would afford them some space of their own during their stay. If we have singles interested in staying we can add a single bed to the larger bedroom or in the TV room. We are pretty flexible so will do what we can to make everyone as comfortable as possible. Each bedroom will have access to a private bathroom (not ensuite, but next to the bedrooms).

I work from home so food will be provided for breakfast and lunch but it will be mostly self-serve. I will make dinner each evening and that will be served family style so we can all gather and talk and share.

Edmonton is a lovely city to visit. It is the "gateway" to the North as many people who work or live in the northern parts of Alberta, BC and the Territories fly through Edmonton. It is a vibrant city with many attractions, a good theatre and music scene and lots of great outdoor festivals during the summer months.

If you are already traveling we can provide parking for a campervan or motor home as long as it is under 28 feet long.

We have a small dog who is elderly. She is good with other pets but we would need to chat about your pet to ensure she would be comfortable as she would be our first priority.
