    Description

    Hello everyone!

I’ve just updated my Workaway profile because I’ve recently moved from Sumatra to Java. Some of the references on my profile are from my previous hosting experience in Sumatra, so I just wanted to clarify that those references are from a different place. This profile now describes my current home and hosting experience in Yogyakarta, Java.

I’m an easygoing person living in a cozy studio apartment in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. My home isn’t a business, farm, or hostel. It’s simply my personal space, and I’m opening it to someone who is interested in genuine cultural exchange and sharing everyday life.

Yogyakarta is one of Indonesia’s most vibrant cultural cities, known for its traditional arts, delicious food, friendly people, and rich history. It’s also a great base for exploring places such as Borobudur, Prambanan, Malioboro, as well as the many beaches, mountains, and other interesting places nearby.

I’m looking for one traveler who enjoys simple living and would like to experience everyday life in Indonesia from a more local perspective. We can cook together, visit traditional markets, explore local cafés, discover less touristy places around Yogyakarta, and simply spend time talking and sharing stories about our different cultures and experiences.

In return, I’d appreciate some help with light household tasks, such as keeping the studio clean, cooking together, and helping to maintain a comfortable living space. One of my personal goals is to improve my English, and I’d really appreciate having someone to practice with through everyday conversations. I’m also happy to learn a few things from other languages and cultures along the way.

My studio is small, so it’s best suited for one respectful, open-minded, and independent person who is comfortable with compact living. This is not a luxury accommodation or a conventional homestay. It’s more about sharing a small space, experiencing local life, and getting to know each other.

If you’re looking for an authentic experience rather than luxury accommodation, enjoy simple living, and are open to cultural exchange, I think we could have a really nice time together.

I’m excited to welcome travelers from different parts of the world, exchange cultures, learn from each other, and hopefully create some good memories together in Yogyakarta!

For me, the most important part of hosting is meeting people from different cultures and learning from each other through everyday life.

I can introduce you to local life in Yogyakarta—from traditional markets and Indonesian home cooking to local cafés, cultural events, and places that many tourists don't usually visit. If you're interested, I'd be happy to share Indonesian culture, customs, and a few basic words in Bahasa Indonesia.

In return, I'd love to learn about your culture, hear your travel stories, practice English or another language, and discover new recipes, traditions, and perspectives. I believe that the best cultural exchange happens naturally while cooking, eating together, exploring the city, or simply having good conversations at home.

My goal is to create a friendly and welcoming environment where we both learn something new, make meaningful connections, and enjoy an authentic experience together.

    Aide

I'm mainly looking for someone who enjoys sharing everyday life rather than doing heavy work. Most of the tasks are simple and done together.

Some of the things we might do include:

    * Cooking meals together and sharing recipes from our different cultures.
    * Going to local markets to buy fresh ingredients.
    * Light household cleaning and keeping the studio organized.
    * Practicing English (or another language) through daily conversations.
    * Exploring Yogyakarta together, visiting cafés, cultural sites, or local events when we both have free time.

The help is light and flexible. It's more about contributing to a shared living space and enjoying a cultural exchange than completing a long list of chores. I hope we can learn from each other, exchange ideas, and have interesting conversations while spending time together.

This opportunity is ideal for someone who is friendly, respectful, open-minded, and happy to experience everyday life in Yogyakarta.

You'll be staying in my studio apartment in Yogyakarta. As it's a small shared space, it's best suited for one Workawayer who is comfortable with simple, compact living.

I'll provide a clean and secure place to sleep, along with bedding, pillows, and access to all the basic amenities, including Wi-Fi, a bathroom and a kitchen.

We'll share the living space, so it's important that we're both respectful of each other and keep the studio clean and organized.

For food, I enjoy cooking at home, and we'll often prepare meals together and shop for fresh ingredients at local markets. It's a great opportunity to share recipes and experience Indonesian home cooking. Sometimes we'll eat out and explore local food around Yogyakarta as well.

If you're looking for an authentic local experience and don't mind a small shared home, I hope you'll feel comfortable and welcome here.

I believe the best Workaway experiences come from mutual respect, open communication, and flexibility. This is a home, not a hotel, so I hope we can both contribute to creating a comfortable and positive atmosphere.

During your free time, you can explore everything Yogyakarta has to offer. The city is easy to get around by scooter, ride-hailing apps, or public transport, and there are plenty of cafés, museums, temples, art spaces, and local markets to discover. If our schedules match, I'd also be happy to show you some of my favorite places.

My only house rules are simple: please respect our shared space, clean up after yourself, communicate openly, and be considerate of each other routines.

If you're curious about Indonesian culture, enjoy meaningful conversations, and appreciate simple living, I think we'll have a great time together. I look forward to welcoming you to Yogyakarta and sharing an authentic local experience.
