  Description

  Lifestyle farmstay helpers - we are looking for help for a few weeks or more.
  
  We are a couple in our 50's that live on a lifestyle property under the wonderful Mount Tamahanga, near the Te Araroa Trail. We have a cat, chickens and some sheep. Half of our land is New Zealand native bush that is busy regenerating, the other half is pasture and gardens. Big Omaha is about 1hr +\- NE of Auckland.
  
  We are keen to have 2 Workawayers (couple preferably) for help on our property ie, tidy up of the property, weeding, mulching, planting, gardening, plus helping to build a patio area etc. The property has a lot of clearing to be done, quite a few planting projects and although not organic we like to consider permaculture on our land. We would like to do one project at a time with your stay of a month at a time, if possible.
  We are looking for anyone who is fit, has initiative, willing to help in all weather, can complete a task to a good standard and who is comfortable getting their hands dirty.
  
  We have a small but warm, comfortable home where you'll join us for meals. You will have your own accomodation building we call The Bach, a private large room with it's own bathroom and WiFi. One of your first jobs will be to help us get this area better with a patio and outdoor kitchen.
  
  But it's not all about work! Paul and I have done a lot of travel and working over our younger years in many different countries and had some wonderful experiences. We would like to extend that to sharing with others. We also own a dive shop buiness that operates in summer.
  
  Our road has the entrance for walking the Te Araroa Trail, Mt Tamahanga providing great walks. This is an area that provides beaches in less than 10 minutes (Omaha Beach, Matheson's Bay, Whangateau), as well as Goat Island Marine Reserve for snorkeling and exploring. There are many local activities - coastal walk, swimming, fishing, kayaking, snorkeling, surfing, bike riding and even horse riding. There is also the famous Matakana Market, Sawmill Café and great local eateries. To make the most of the area having a car is a plus. We are a busy couple and like to do fun things whenever we get a chance.

  Quite, friendly cat, the only remaining one of 4. Very independent. Likes farm walks. Loves food! Loves the fireplace.
