  Description

  Hello!
  We are workawayers ourselves for several years, as we like to help with someone's project, share cultural exchange. Our values: respect, kindness, share. Atmosphere: relaxed — serious work, done with joy.
  
  We are Ulrich (German) and Lorene (French). After years in Marseille, we moved to the countryside for a life change — we now live in Forcalquier, a sunny town of ~5,000 people in Provence, 1h from Aix-en-Provence by bus.
  Our house is in the old town; our garden, just 1 minute away, has a panoramic view over the town and hills.
  
  Our project
  We have a nice permaculture garden, with an amazing view. we are planting fruit trees, trying to grow our own vegs, cutting and making creative project with local bamboos, compost and soil regeneration. It's an experimental garden where we learn, experiment and enjoy !
  If you like nature, shared meals, French cooking, outdoor work, cultural exchange, sharing experiences — you'll probably enjoy it here with us. Some tasks can be physical, so it helps to enjoy working with your hands (and even sewing 🙂).
  
  About Forcalquier
  In the middle of lavenders fields, Forcalquier is a small but culturally rich city : here you'll find local organic farmers' markets, concerts, artists & crafters, an international open-minded community. Hills and wild landscapes between Provence and the Southern Alps. Nearby: natural swimming spots (lakes, rivers), hiking trails, cycling routes (we have bikes), an indoor climbing gym — and ~320 days of sunshine a year.
  
  About us :
  Ulrich — construction & DIY, works collectively, focused and dynamic outdoors.
  Lorene — clothes designer, sew teacher, textile art & natural dyeing, loves gardening and creative crafts.
  
  Activities
  Mainly outdoor and practical: gardening, tree planting, moving soil — langage exchange, cooking together, sharing meals, walking in nature, visiting the surroundings together, meeting people from different cultures.
  
  Our rythmn :
  Mornings, e.g. 9:00–12:00, afternoons free to explore.
  
  Accommodation :
  We propose you inside our house : a private room with private bathroom and we share the house and garden!

  We are a multicultural Franco-German couple who have traveled a lot throughout our lives. Meeting people from different cultures and backgrounds is something we truly enjoy.
  For us, the most important thing is human connection, sharing experiences and exchanging ideas. Workaway is not just about work — it’s about meeting interesting people and creating meaningful exchanges.
  We know the region very well and are always aware of what’s happening locally:
  festivals, concerts, markets and cultural events. We are happy to share our knowledge of the area and guide our Workawayers so they can really experience the local life of Provence.
  There is also a bicycle available if you want to explore the surroundings.
  We have high-speed internet, so the place can also work well for digital nomads who need to stay connected while enjoying nature and a slower lifestyle.

  We are not a business and Workawayers will be only helping with tasks around our personal house/garden
  
  The activities are mainly outdoor and practical, such as:
  gardening
  planting trees
  moving soil
  Some tasks can be a bit physical, so it helps if you enjoy hands-on activities.
  But the atmosphere is relaxed: we like to work seriously but with joy.

  Our house is in the old town, and our garden is located just one minute away, with a spectacular panoramic view over the town and the surrounding hills.
