Description
We have a mixed regenerative farm with sheep, Dexter beef cattle and a flock of pasture raised laying hens on Ireland’s wild Dingle Peninsula. We have a spare room in the house for accommodation, or plenty of space to park a campervan if you’re travelling with one.
There are a wide range of tasks available that you can assist with - this ranges from daily laying hen chores (feeding, collecting and packing eggs), to weeding around the veggie garden, to mulching newly planted trees and hedges, to chopping firewood and other daily farm tasks.
As a regenerative farm, we aim to farm in such a way that builds soil and increases biodiversity while at the same time producing nutrient dense food. All the animals on the farm have a role to play in helping us to add fertility back to the land.
Full training on all of the above can be provided, but someone with past experience with farming is desirable.Types d'aide et opportunités d'apprendre

Echange culturel et opportunités d'apprendre
We, Matt (American) and Maura (Irish), met while living in New Zealand. We always look forward to meeting new people and learning about other cultures, and sharing ours with you.
We are passionate about regenerative agriculture - farming in a way that is more than just sustainable, but actually in a way that regenerates the land. You can learn how we farm and incorporate it into your own farm or homesteading sometime in the future.
We are on the ever popular and stunning Dingle peninsula, only 25 minutes away from Dingle tow where there are very often festivals and closer still to Gaeltacht villages where the native Irish language is commonly spoken. Maura can teach you some Irish as can our son who is learning it in school.
There’s always a job to be done on the farm, but we make sure to put our feet up at the end of the day and enjoy a drink and meal of often farm raised produce. We’ll be glad to share it with you.Projets impliquant des enfants

Autres infos...
We are near Castlegregory on the Dingle Peninsula. Just down the road you'll find a lovely forest park with two lakes and hiking trails. We are surrounded by small mountains you can go hiking on. Three miles away is the beach, with many miles of beautiful coastline to explore and waves to be surfed. Castlegregory village has lots of pubs and restaurants. A car would really be ideal, as it opens up lots more opportunities to explore the whole of the Dingle Peninsula - the busy town in Dingle is only 30 minutes away.
