  Welcome to Our Nature Retreat in Spain!
  
  Hi, I’m Rudy, a 60-year-old Dutchman who’s been living in the heart of Spain for over seven years. After falling in love with the Spanish countryside, I decided to make it my home, embracing a life surrounded by nature and living from the heart.
  
  My 25-year-old son lives near Amsterdam and visits during the holidays, bringing extra energy to our little haven. I’m a curious, open-minded person who loves connecting with people from all walks of life, sharing stories, and creating joyful moments together.
  
  About Our Project
  Our home is a peaceful retreat nestled in the mountains, where we’re slowly transforming our permaculture garden into a thriving food forest. As a Workawayer, you’ll help with tasks like planting, weeding, harvesting, or maintaining the garden, as well as small projects in our workshop, where we have tools like welding machines, drills, and more for creative endeavors. We also make wine from various fruits and preserve food for our own use – you’re welcome to join in and learn these skills! No prior experience is needed, just a willingness to get your hands dirty and enjoy the process. Expect to work around 4-5 hours a day, 5 days a week, leaving plenty of time to relax or explore.
  
  Cultural Exchange and Learning
  For me, Workaway is all about sharing and learning from each other. I love hosting communal dinners where we cook together – I’ll introduce you to Dutch classics like stamppot or my famous pancakes, and I’d be thrilled to try recipes from your home country. I’m also a music enthusiast (I even play a bit of guitar!), so I’d love to hear the songs and instruments that are special to your culture. In return, I’ll share stories about life in the Netherlands, from cycling through tulip fields to quirky Dutch traditions. I’m excited to learn about your background, whether it’s a new language, a unique craft, or simply your perspective on life. These exchanges make every day here richer.
  
  What We Offer
  You’ll stay in a cozy mobile home with your own private space, offering stunning views of the mountains. We provide hearty meals, often made with fresh ingredients from our garden, and you’re welcome to join us in our social room for music, ping pong, or just chilling out. Our workshop is open for you to work on your own creative projects, and we have bikes to explore the nearby countryside. The area is perfect for hiking, visiting local markets, or soaking in the natural beauty of Spain.
  
  Who We’re Looking For
  We welcome anyone with a positive attitude, a love for nature, and curiosity about different cultures. Whether you’re a seasoned gardener or a beginner eager to learn, you’ll fit right in. We speak English, Dutch, and some Spanish, and we love picking up new words from our guests. If you enjoy good food, music, and meaningful conversations, you’ll feel at home here.

  When I’m not tending to the garden or tinkering in the workshop, you’ll find me strumming my guitar or sharing stories by a campfire. I believe in living in the moment and creating connections that warm the soul.
