In 2018 we bought a historical manor in the South of France to run as a bed and breakfast, grow fruit and vegetables and raise sheep.
Our intention is to offer guests the experience of a working castle with friendly quiet surrounds in a historical location.
Our dream found the perfect location just outside Figeac in a vibrant community with many interesting historical sights and beautiful villages, caves, plateaus, hikes and of course the oak forests, stone walls and river cultures.
We are in the process of renovating the manor a little here and there but the main aim is to keep it as simple as it has been handed to us.
The previous owners were a family who had taken care of the manor for the last 125 years and we intend to take equally good care of it, leaving it to the next generations filled with history, stories told and untold.
We invite you to come and leave your mark, with your skills, your passion, your drive. We invite you to come and enjoy the beautiful Lot Department and discover its natural treasures, history and art. With your eyes wide open, you see surprises around every corner.

The area has much to offer and remains quite french in culture, language and cuisine. Terry and I have lived in Australia and Switzerland. We have travelled extensively.

Depending on the season there is house and renovation work, fencing, gardening and art projects for you to enjoy. House work consists of cleaning rooms, windows and floors; renovations consists of adding bathrooms and ancient tower steps; setting up new fences for the sheep; gardening method is permaculture adding a medieval garden and vegetables for the meals; art projects are to enlighten the senses mostly outdoor art.

There are many outdoor activities, bicycle riding, hiking, kayaking, swimming, cave exploring, rock climbing and much more.
Our Manor is near the Chemin de Compostelle and it is possible to walk into town on a beautiful hiking trail.
Figeac is a historical town with a history going to the 9th century. Many artists have come to the town to be inspired and have stayed. While Figeac may not be well known internationally, the visitors come here because there is so much to discover.
