Help on our surf-camp in Dakar, Senegal

  Description

  The surf camp is situated in Yoff BCEAO a fraction of Dakar, just in front of one of the biggest beach break of the area. This is the place where workers, owners, guests and hosts are all part of the same huge community. We are 2 owners (Aziz and Marta) from Senegal and Italy, who started the school in 2010. Our surfcamp offers 6 rooms(around 25 people) in total, in one big traditional senegalese house. We also have a surfshop that offers coffee, clothes and surf equipment. Everything is very close, also a big supermarket, shops and bars are within walking distance.
  
  Yoff is a quiet and pretty safe area of town, you can enjoy the beach vibes, without getting the stress of the city. You are 20 minutes of taxi or public transports from Dakar turistic attractions, everything is easily accessible and you can find everything you need around you.

  The surfcamp is a great opportunity to meet people from all over the world, people with different background and interests. Also the camp is completely integrated in the local way of life so you'll have a unique experience of the country. Our staff is local, great surf teachers and very welcoming people.

  Aide

  We need somebody happy and friendly to host new guests and explain how the camp runs. We ask the volunteers to help us around on household duties, to keep the space nice and efficient for everybody. Take pictures of the surf classes, help out with local kids, motivate guests to go surfing and make good vibes around.
  
  * If volunteers wants to have full access to our surfboards and wetsuits and take part in our surf lessons or trips, we ask to pay 100 euro per month. This is completely optional.

  Our community will make you feel welcome in any possible way. From the locals to the kids everyone is gonna try to teach you some words in wolof.

  Hébergement

  We offer a bed in the shared room in the surf camp. We have a dorm for girls and a dorm for boys.
  
  We will provide breakfast and dinner each day of the week. The volunteer will just take care of his/her lunch. We might ask to cook an easy meal once a week but it is more likely some of our staff will do. It can happen in an emergency state.

  Remember you are in Africa, things just works differents here , be open and respectful to this beautiful culture. Senegal is the country of Teranga, people are smiling and super welcoming.
