Description
THIS IS A CARBON NEUTRAL FARM WITH MUD AND ANIMALS, WHERE THE WORK IS PHYSICAL.
My name is Sammie and I live with my mom in a real rural area, we have plenty of physical tasks to be done including a large garden that need to get into shape and order with some raised beds, this will provide food for ourselves and volunteers that comes in the next season. Need help for building stone walls and occasionally a bit of fencing too, but the garden is the most important.
We've got 6 or more cats that stay outside and a some goats that we keep for breeding and for meat, but most of the tasks with the animals is my responsibility.
Please, we ask your patience, maturity and understanding because me and my mother are very busy and need to work a lot, so sometimes it may seems lonely there are a lot of peace and quiet with the views around. We will take you, when it is possible, to the town or another places.

We need people that enjoy the dirt and have the will to help out in the garden and with some other activities, as building, moving turf, cleaning the field, mucking out, fixing some fencing, digging the garden, preparing the earth to planting, building work, etc.

We please say that keeping the house clean and warm is not part of the hour of help but is a daily routine in our house, so we ask with kindnes your help with that.

It was my first experience with workaway and it was amazing! From the beginning I felt welcomed and accepted. Penny and Sammie are very nice and kind. They shared some internet with me and drived me to discover new cities and places. I liked all the animals expecially the dog Flika. The work was hard but gave me lot of satisfaction. Sammie… read more

I went to this place at the end of the summer and remained there for quite a while. The host and her daughter are lovely people. They've had volunteers for years (before migrating to this website) and so many have enjoyed their time here: great food, great company and they have a very peaceful way of life that a lot of people… read more
