  Description

  Hello helper! We are a family of 5 plus two very friendly cats. We speak English and German, love to travel and meet people from other places! We like to share ideas, traditions, and food :) we like to show our part of Switzerland, it's beautiful and relaxing.
  
  We have 3 kids - a boy, 14, a girl, 11, and another boy, 9. They are easy-going and like to meet new people. Switzerland is a little insular and we are looking forward to learning about your part of the world! Maybe you play an instrument, like to cook, have a cool hobby, teach a sport? We are interested!
  
  Our house is large with a garden, next to the forest but also with quick access to Basel city, France, and Germany.
  
  We have a separate guest room and bathroom for our workawayer, as well as a bike. Public transportation is excellent here also!
  
  You can join us for activities in nature or the city as you like, and you will have plenty of free time to explore on your own. Basel is a beautiful city with amazing history, museums, nature, restaurants, a river to swim in... And we are about 20min bike ride or bus from the center.

  We love meeting new people! We are American/Swiss and fully integrated in Basel. If you would like to experience Switzerland, get some insider tips for local tourism, go on local trips with us, or go on longer trips into the Alps on your own, then come stay with us!

  Aide

  We would like your help with light house tasks, in the garden, and some companionship for the kids! We would share the tasks, or you would have small tasks like do the dishes or water the garden. Help with meal prep and cleanup, and if you're into cooking, help cook too! Or we can teach you how to cook some yummy recipes :)

  Hébergement

  We have a large guest bedroom and bathroom, on the main floor of the house.
  Breakfast and lunch can be together or separate. Dinner is at home and shared with us, we eat some meat but not every day. We are happy to stock the kitchen with all the basics for your breakfast and lunch, but we would want you to buy your extras like alcohol or soda.

  Basel city is international and beautiful! We are also close to two rivers, the forest, the estate where Roger Federer got married :) our house is great for relaxing or playing.
  
  Our town and neighborhood is quiet, so this opportunity would be the best fit for you if you're into nature, being outside, exploring the city as a tourist, or being a homebody.
  
  There is so much in Basel too - outdoor dances, theater, concerts. The buses are frequent and close by, and it's safe and easy to bike. We live on a hill, so coming home is a hike up - easier if you're in good shape!
  
  No smokers, please. We have 2 cats that are hypoallergenic, but if you have a strong cat allergy you will probably still be affected.
  
  We enjoy socializing, but also like quiet time! This opportunity would be best for someone who also has a balance of intro- and extrovert, and is independent thinking and doesn't need a lot of guidance (after learning the basics of the house!)
  
  That said, with 3 kids (sometimes with friends) at home it can get busy, so you need to feel ok with some noise:)
