Description
Hello! We are an open-minded family who has been happily welcoming international Workawayers for over 10 years.
Located in Chungju, just 2 hours away from Seoul, our home is a peaceful space nestled along the scenic Namhan River and surrounded by a beautiful chestnut forest. Over the past decade, we’ve shared wonderful memories and thoughtful conversations with friends from all over the world. If you love nature, scenic river views, and heartfelt cultural exchange, you are always welcome here!
OUR HISTORY
In 2011, we left our busy city life behind and made a life-changing decision. Driven by a desire to live in deeper harmony with nature, we moved to the countryside here in Chungju.
Over the years, we have sought an alternative way of life. Today, we spend our days with our beloved animals, including horses, cows, and dogs. We also cultivate a peaceful walnut orchard, operate a rainwater harvesting system, use an eco-friendly composting toilet, and make our own natural soap—all as part of our mindful way of life.
THINGS TO KNOW
- We recommend staying for at least two weeks.
- You will help 4–5 hours a day from Monday to Friday, with the exception of the chestnut harvest season from September to November (during this period, you will work 3 hours every morning harvesting chestnuts).
- Tasks include feeding the animals, general maintenance, farming, gardening, cooking, and, especially from September to November, chestnut harvesting.
- We are located 60 minutes by bus from downtown Chungju. The last bus to our location departs at 6:30 PM.
- Volunteers are asked to refrain from smoking, drug use, and excessive drinking both inside and outside the house throughout their stay! Please apply only if you can fully comply with and are willing to adhere to these rules.
- We provide food ingredients free of charge, but you will need to prepare your own meals. Of course, you are welcome to share meals with us.

DIRECTIONS
From Incheon Airport :
You can take an Airbus from Incheon airport to Chung-Ju Bus Terminal (충주).
From there take a bus to here. It will take about 90mins.

Volunteers will have the opportunity to experience typical rural life in Korea. We will also be able to enjoy Korean food together and discuss what it means to live in harmony with nature.
Aide
Volunteers are required to help 3 hours in the morning and 2 hours in the afternoon, by taking care of animals and doing other community help.
But 3 hours in the morning every day during chestnuts harvest season (From Sep. to Nov. usually)
