Elna was a great help to me. Even though she only spent a few days here with me in Brittany, she actively took care of everything I couldn't do yet. She made the small terrace visible again, gave the dirty garden gates back their white colour and helped me to turn almost everything in the fridge into a delicious meal. I am particularly grateful to
… read more her for taking care of the overgrown ivy and the knotweed that was sprouting everywhere. Using large secateurs and a saw, she cleared the fig trees and pulled out long, tangled vines. She enjoyed following their branching strands and pulling them out. She started all the work very carefully and independently and did a great job, got to grips with everything and supported me so that I can leave this holiday home to its own devices in a few days' time. We both hope that the mouse's loopholes have finally been plugged with steel wool. As a well-travelled and experienced Dane, she has a lot to say about her experiences and adventures. It was a very enjoyable and enriching four days with her. She should come again.

Having my first experience as a workawayer in Angela’s garden has been so nice. She has work to be done even if her garden is beautiful already. Everything grows very well - flowers as well as weeds 👨🌾

It is impossible to describe how wonderful and enjoyable it was for me with Mareike during the 10 days. A wild garden by the canal and a very talented and obviously socially and politically very committed family not only gave her a lot of knowledge about plants and gardening, but also many skills in dealing with things and people. Whether it was
… read more my broken glasses or the drain, the blackberries or designing florett bed borders, Mareike took on everything enthusiastically and perfected it quickly and creatively in the truest sense of the word. I especially admired the way she put ideas into practice, was super familiar with the internet and found out even the smallest ways to climb our local mountain early in the morning, alone in the mist. Putting her in charge of the cooking was especially smart and inspiring. She made the most delicious meals out of everything and cleaned up the fridge more and more in her wonderful way: there were no leftovers that couldn't be turned back into something new. Besides all her ways of helping me, I especially liked her open and committed way of approaching the still unknown. With her it was very easy to forget the generational boundaries. She approached all the people close to me here with warmth and openness - no matter how old, whether with or without language skills - consciously and with interest in herself and the others. She should come again.
Es ist fast unmöglich zu beschreiben, wie wunderbar und unterhaltsam es mit Mareike während der 10 Tage für mich war. Ein wilder Garten am Kanal und eine handwerklich sehr begabte und offensichtlich sozial und politisch sehr engagierte Familie haben ihr nicht nur viel Wissen über Pflanzen und Gartenarbeit, sonder auch viele Fähigkeiten im Umgang mit Dingen und Menschen mitgegeben. Ob es nun meine kaputte Brille oder der Abfluss, die Brombeeren oder das Gestalten von Beetumrandungen war, Mareike hat sich allem begeistert angenommen und es schnell und kreativ im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes vervollkommnet. Besonders habe ich bewundert, wie sie Ideen umsetzt, super gut sich mit dem Internet auskennt und selbst die kleinsten Wege herausfand um auf unseren Hausberg in aller Frühe allein in den Nebel zu steigen. Ihr das Kochen an die Hand zu geben war besonders klug und inspirierend. Sie hat aus allem die köstlichsten Essen gezaubert und den Kühlschrank auf ihre wunderbare Weise immer mehr aufgeräumt: Es gab keine Reste, die nicht wieder in etwas Neues verwandelt werden konnten. Neben all ihren Möglichkeiten mir zu helfen hat mir besonders ihre offene und engagierte Art noch Unbekanntem zu begegnen gefallen. Mit ihr war es sehr leicht die Generationsgrenzen zu vergessen. Herzlich und mit großer Offenheit hat sie sich allen mir nahen Menschen hier, -ganz gleich wie betagt, ob mit oder ohne Sprachkenntnisse- bewusst und sich und die anderen interessiert wahrnehmend zugewandt. Sie sollte wiederkommen.

Having Rea here with me was just wonderful. From the first moment I had great confidence and was sure that we would get along well. No matter what I entrusted her with as upcoming work in the garden, it was done very satisfactorily in a short time. … read more thus mowed the lawn, trimmed the hedges, tackled the elder and the ivy and even nettles and beastly brambles couldn't harm her. Everything was quickly done. Rea was unabashed in bringing new ideas to the table and making them a reality. Often she stood there with her mobile phone in her hand and searched for original recipes, which then resulted in a delicious meal that we prepared together. We talked a lot about our lives and got to know each other so quickly. I am especially grateful to Rea for encouraging me not to give up the garden and the house, so we set up an app together for me so that I can also get paid help when necessary. It was very nice all around and I wish her that all her plans will turn into successful projects.
Rea hier bei mir zu haben war einfach wunderbar. Vom ersten Augenblick an hatte ich großes Zutrauen und war sicher, dass wir uns gut verstehen. Ganz gleich was ich ihr als anstehende Arbeit im Garten anvertraute, diese war in kurzer Zeit sehr zufriedenstellend erledigt. Besonders überrascht war ich, dass Rea sich alles ohne Zögern mit einem „passt schon“ vornahm und so den Rasen mähte, die Hecken stutze, sich an den Holunder und den Efeu machte und selbst Brennnesseln und biestiges Brombeergestrüpp ihr nichts anhaben konnten. Alles war schnell geschafft. Rea hat ohne jegliche Scheu bei der Essensplanung neue Ideen eingebracht und verwirklicht. Oft stand sie dabei mit Handy in der Hand und suchte nach originellen Rezepte, woraus dann ein gemeinsam von uns zubereitetes, leckeres Essen entstand. Dabei haben wir viel aus unserem Leben erzählt und uns so schnell kennengelernt. ich bin Rea vor allem dankbar, dass sie mich ermutigt hat den Garten und das Haus nicht aufzugeben, So haben wir gemeinsam für mich eine App eingerichtet, damit ich mir auch notwendig bezahlte Hilfe holen kann. Es war rundum sehr schön und ich wünsche ihr, dass aus all ihren Plänen erfolgreiche Projekte werden.

We had a wonderful time staying at Angela's house. Angela is very lovely, she provides you with everything you need. She cooked every meal for us and showed us nice places nearby.
The work was easy and didn't require any difficult skills.

… read more vegan food. Both were very lovely, especially friendly and helpful. We laughed a lot while playing Malefiz in the evening. It was a very nice week and I regretted not inviting them for longer. They were just wonderful.

I really enjoyed the days with Amelie. Although reserved and a little shy, Amelie was always ready to contribute with her skills. I was particularly impressed by her unobtrusive and attentive way of foreseeing what was necessary and doing everything independently and prudently. I was particularly struck by how quickly she orientated herself, acted accordingly and thought along. She often drew my attention to something, reminded me and quickly realised what was important. The time with her flew by and I felt very familiar and close to her despite our short time together and the age difference. I will always have fond memories of my time with Amelie.
