We spent around a month with Rosalia and Peter and it was excellent. First of all communication with them was perfect and we didn't have any missunderstandings and problems during the whole time. Rosalia and Peter are very helpful and they provided us with plenty of information about everything we asked about. They also donated their time and took us to two nearby towns to spend time together. We could see beautiful Granada and Montefrio thanks to them. Rosalia and Pedro are very welcoming, warm and kind people and they made us feel comfortable, secure and provided us with anything that we needed. Pedro and Rosalia were always there to explain us the tasks and had confidence in us to do them by ourselves and we really appreciate this. We really enjoyed doing all of the work and we had a lot of free time to explore Granada and other places. But of course our favorite time spent was going to adventures with Apollo and Candy!

We totally recommend Rosalia and Pedro! It was only 2 weeks, but we felt like we were visiting old friends. They are super friendly and will definitely give you lots of laughs and positive energy! … read more barbequeues - while at the same time they were very independent, organized their own meals, etc.
Alex is a super-worker (not exaggerating), always energetic and full of enthusiasm to do any task, sufficiently independent and experienced that we were able to just give him a rough idea of what we wanted to do and he would essentially carry jobs out without needing any supervision. At the same time he tries always to ask the necessary questions and reacts very well to feedback. Be it building a rock wall, sanding and varnishing garden furniture, trimming hedges or digging and planting - he can do it all.
Both Alex and Sarah are very cheerful and honest people, the kind you want to have around at a party, but that you would also leave your home and dogs to take care of without a second thought - which they did many times when we had to go somewhere.

We planned to stay with Pedro and Rosalia for 4 weeks but ended up staying 7.5. Sarah broke a bone in her foot while walking (nothing to do with the workaway) and Pedro and Rosalia were incredibly generous and helpful when responding to our new needs.
The work was varied and interesting, developing a vegetable patch, landscaping a terraced
… read more garden, trimming hedges, making kindling, using the chainsaw and hand axe to create firewood etc etc. The pair have a broad range of knowledge and are good teachers, communicating clearly their expectations and desires. There's significant flexibility and autonomy in which jobs you want to do and when you want to work. They've both done workaways before and seem to really understand the good and bad of the role. We got the impression they are really looking to share the positive vibe of workaway, not just access volunteer workers.
You're provided with an entire separate apartment, including kitchen/toilet and two spaces you can work from (important for Sarah and I as we were both working remotely). Wifi was strong. There's some lovely outdoor space from which you could work/relax in warmer months. There are two bicycles you could use and the chickens will provide a steady stream of eggs.
Pedro and Rosalia are both accepting, compassionate people who will, within reason, try to accommodate your needs. We had a lot of fun with them outside of workaway hours, hiking, playing boardgames, chatting away and stargazing with their telescope. They have three dogs, Socio is very old and is totally docile, Apollo is quite young and is energetic but respectful once you've acclimatised to him, Candy we found abandoned at the top of a mountain (2.5 weeks old) and is also respectful. Even if you're afraid of dogs, once you've met these three once and set rules you could be very comfortable with them.
The location is really peaceful, quiet and isolated. The closest shops/village/town are about a 40min walk. There is some walking right out of the house but mostly it's just olive orchards.
