Description
Hello! We are Brenda and David , a retired English couple living in the Dordogne,Southeast France. We lived in England for 25 years before moving to France . Previously, we lived in the Middle East, Asia and the US and worked in the travel industry for almost 2 decades so we had the opportunity to meet a variety of people from different cultures and backgrounds.
We enjoy meeting and interacting with people from different walks of life, sharing our experiences from our travels and the countries we have lived in. We do not have and do not accept any pets and we are non smokers.
Brenda enjoys cooking and trying out new dishes from different countries .David loves to eat ,thankfully 😊 .
We like the outdoors, going for walks ,travelling , history , yoga and meeting people.
We live in this part of the Dordogne which is truly spectacular. Even after 18 years of living here, it still takes our breath away!
There are beautiful landscapes and stunning scenery that you'll encounter as you drive or cycle around , an incredible amount of sites to visit : magnificent chateaux and gardens , prehistoric and stalactite caves, historic /bastide (fortified towns) perched on top of a hill , and quaint charming villages many of which we still have to discover and explore.
Near and around us, there are walking and cycling routes/paths , rivers and lakes for swimming, fishing and sailing, local farmers markets . We live in the countryside so there is little night life and no public buses . Our workaway-er must have own means of transport . -

Echange culturel et opportunités d'apprendre
Our house sits on top of a hill with amazing views. Imagine sitting on the patio watching the different colors in the sky as the sun rises , or sipping a drink at the end of the day watching beautiful sunsets, Or read a book while lying on the sunlounger in the woodland , listening to the sound of birds.
In addition ,we are close to many famous Dordogne tourist sites and chateaux. This is a great opportunity to discover this beautiful part of France.
We used to own a holiday home(gite ) rental business in the area and we have lived here for 16 years, so we know the area very well and can give you tips and local knowledge so you can enjoy and make the most of your travel experience .
The prehistoric caves of Lascaux in Montignac, is 40 minutes away . Many more like Sarlat , Domme, Chateau Beynac, Roque Gageac, Font de Gaumme to name just a few.)
If you like history , there are many Chateau nearby. Chateaux Hautefort is just 25 minutes drive away. -
