Description
I’m Antigoni.
I live in a small village of 50 people, near the northern borders of Greece.
Who would imagine that my grandfather’s house would come alive again?
I moved here 2 years ago, when this was an almost forgotten land. Away from the city and the buzz, in the silent nights and the slow or dynamic days—depending on the season and the weather—I had to start building something from scratch. I naturally needed to make this place My place, to live in a home that would reflect me, where I would feel comfortable and proud. Not bad until now!
Actually, I wouldn’t have expected it to change so much, and in these directions.
You see, rarely do I make a plan. My ideas seem to be born in the early morning, and any attempt to plan before that morning usually ends up in the garbage. That’s why I say I didn’t expect it to change so much, and in these directions.
So here we are now, in a place I consider beautiful—located in the northern borders of Greece, in a solitary area—that I finally enjoy more than I struggle with. Thankfully, I welcome many travelers: bikepackers, hitchhikers, and caravans.
I couldn’t achieve anything without their presence, even if they have no idea :) They don’t know that I get inspiration and strength from them, or that when they leave this place behind, they also leave their stamp. They impact it in their own way.
Our encounters fill me with hope, with vision. Sometimes they give me the much-needed “reset”: I can make decisions I was doubting before. All in all, the presence of the so-called traveler—or the adventurer, the person who, for their own reasons, is making their very own path in the world in their very unique way—well, their presence is much needed here. When the lake is too steady, it turns into a marsh. Therefore, any energy foreign to this “lake” is deeply appreciated.
Apart from that, these souls also need to be entertained throughout the day, to get in direct contact with nature and the weather in order to heal themselves. For many travelers this is the purpose, and this is what I aspire for them to fulfill here.
So, all in all, your energy and your good will are already enough.
That said, there is gardening going on all around, and depending on the season the work changes. There is a big piece of land where you can experiment if you like—I’m always open to learning new things. There are olive trees and some other fruit trees, and I plant tomatoes, maize, broccoli, etc., depending on the season. I also have some quails and chicks, and I plan to take some bunnies once I manage their accommodation.
Personally, I’ve done plenty of volunteer work in France, Spain, Portugal, and the Czech Republic. Some experiences I really enjoyed. I’ve learned a lot about gardening, and I’ve gained so many different points of view regarding not only gardening but also ways of living, life hacks, psychology, and philosophies of life.Types d'aide et opportunités d'apprendre

During your stay here, I hope it will feel less like “work” and more like being part of a small, living project. I’ve traveled and volunteered myself so I know how important it is to feel included and valued. For me, Workawayers are not just helpers—as I said their presence and their energy is already contributing to this place.
We’ll share meals, conversations, stories, and daily life in this little village. I can teach you what I’ve learned so far about gardening, taking care of animals, and living a simple but fulfilling life close to nature. I also love sharing language, culture, and traditions with anyone who is curious.
At the same time, I hope to learn from you—whether it’s gardening tricks from your country, new recipes, different philosophies of life, or just your way of seeing the world. Each traveler leaves their “stamp” here, and this exchange of energy and ideas is what keeps the place alive and inspiring.Projets impliquant des enfants
