Hi there, we are a family of four, I’m Amanda, My husband Ian, and our two kids, 12 and 9. We have two black Labrador’s 3 goats, numerous chickens and black cat with 3 legs.
We live in a little gem of a valley, 10 minutes off the Bruce highway halfway between the Sunshine Coast and Gympie (half an hour to each by car)
We moved to this beautiful valley from Canberra over a year ago now, to follow a bit of a dream to have a better lifestyle, more involved with nature.
We’re slowly setting up a bit of a hobby farm, building fences, Get my beehives back up and running, Chooks and other animals, tiny house to complete building, shed and other renovations, Probably a caravan and fit out soon, retaining walls, terracing and landscaping. We’d like to also set up more sustainable methods of farming and gardening, permaculture, veggies, aquaponics. We also have two dams that we are looking to regenerate somewhat.
Our spot is picturesque, we have 5 acres and a view from the front deck that overlooks the tree lined valley, we have daily king parrots and lorikeets, various birds and abundant wildlife.
We would welcome you into our home and share our home cooked meals, we live food and eat well, we have a self contained teeny tiny home for you to stay, with a small fridge and sink, we’d be thankful for any help you can offer, we’re happy with long or short stays, and there’s lots of various things we’d love any help with.
Good to note that we are not vegan but we welcome any dietary preferences, however you would need to bring and cook your Vegan protein :) We will of course accommodate where possible with lots of veg and fruit :)

We have various options for help.
We have a half built tiny house that needs completion, a garage conversion, a chook house going up, a goat shed, paddock maintenance, dam maintenance, animal feeding, landscaping and gardening, weeding, permaculture mentoring, creating veggie beds and tending to them, planting trees, removing trees, general maintenance, beehives to get back up and running, looking at more sustainable off grid watering for the gardens, building a studio, doing up a caravan - potentially, if we can find one to do up, cleaning inside and outside, Cooking, and even just being good company for the kids, or minding them - we are very flexible depending on the skills you have or what you’re keen to do. We are also happy for you to be social or not depending on your preference.

Your accommodation is a ‘teeny tiny house’ it’s comfortable for a single person or couple as it has a double bed, it’s self contained with a small fridge, and sink area and decent thetford camp toilet. You have access to the house at all times and bathroom in the house (external entry too) there is no bathroom in the tiny house. You can use the kitchen in the house too of course. Happy if you want to cook or bake - have lots of equipment, bread makers blenders juicers etc
We will cook you meals in the main house and you’re welcome to eat with us or separately.
If the teeny tiny house is in use you will be offered a small studio annex with a fold down Murphy bed, OR a new two room powered tent with real mattress (new). I will confirm what is available when you contact me.
If you are vegan we will accommodate where possible however you will need to ensure you bring your own proteins of choice. We cook lots of vegetables.
A car is strongly recommended, since transport is not readily available here, and we are about 10 mins drive to the nearest shops, however I’m happy to drive you to places when I am going to the shops or we visit the beach etc.
-BYO alcohol, we will offer a limited amount with dinner or a beer after work, but it’s best if you like a drink that you also have your own supply
- Each day we can mutually agree on the job and start and end time, we are flexible on this however want to ensure that this works well for both parties.
- general expectations are that you clean up after yourself (I.e. put rinsed plates in the dishwasher) and help out putting food away, washing any larger saucepans after dinner :)
-internet is available, however it is copper adsl and therefore only capable of one device at a time on a zoom call, therefore, it’s use during the day is limited as we work from home on zoom, so if you need to use it, after 5 will be best or by arrangement between work zoom calls, just ask and we can tell you when we’re not using it. Netflix downloading can be done after work hours
-any specific dietary needs or snacks you will have to bring with you, but you are always welcome to eat what we have here, you definitely won’t go hungry! :)
We will provide a welcoming family atmosphere for you, we try our best to make you feel comfortable and at home.
