A corporate junkie turned farmer. Love the solitude and purity of mountains. We began a farm in himalayas 3 years back and also began a rental platform listing in Nov 2020 and blessed to serve travelers.
Raithal is on the way to Dayara Bugyal trek and Gangotri, frequented by mountaineers, trekkers and pilgrims. Our place has guests who stay for few days to months. We believe in serving people and spreading happiness. A belief that we would like to see happening for our guests, residents, community, and in the process derive happiness for us too. We run this place more like an Ashram where everyone works together, share meals together and celebrate life as events.
We are blessed to be in the himalayas, in midst of nature at its purity. Every season and weather here brings joy.
Besides options of various treks, there are hot springs, valleys, and places of pilgrimage nearby.
A village life not only throws challenges that require solutions everyday, in addition to that it acquaints all of us with the beauty of traditional thought too.
We are also certified yoga instructors and also follow Vipassana. We are practicing to make it a way of life.
We look for people who wish to find joy in the flow of "giving" to others. We are in midst of nature and would like Workawayers to help bring more to the nature by investing time on planting trees, working on farm to have more organic crops or flowers. Or build Sustainable homes for villagers living nearby. Workawayers are not expected to serve the guests.
There is no team as such here but set of volunteers who come and stay and also do their own activities related to their interests. Lot of our neighbours in the village pitch in to support us. At the moment there is one more person besides me who is helping in this endeavour.

Raithal, the village that we live in, is a vibrant yet fairly-like village. Besides getting a sense of satisfaction on doing the contribution, people will nourish the soul in this environment.
We manage two huts and yoga sessions. People who stay here would be part of the belief that 'good' may spread with our Thoughts and deeds. Our Endeavour is to make our service, A divine service. We have been blessed to have served many guests in this short period of time. Being in higher himalayan region brings one nearer to purity in air, water and hearts. Our neighbours share similar belief and We have a vibrant community that shoulders ups and downs of life.
We also have sufficient land to cultivate as well plant trees. Suggestions are welcome from the members who will stay with us. Whether We can teach specifically to A participant may or may not happen but A participant will go back richer as A being is sure.
We live in upper himalayan region in a stone and mud hut (with all modern amenities), and we also host on a rental platform. our farm has seasonal crops and plantation. We are also yoga instructors and conduct yoga session as well. members are welcome to become part of the environment here and participate.
Few of the areas that would need help are:
1. Planting of saplings, plants and crops
2. Supporting meal preparation (Workawayers are not expected to cook for paying guests. )
3. support in health / medical consultation to the local villagers
4. teaching children in the village
5. supporting the community in eco-tourism
Above areas though seem to be vast in nature the person would be able to appreciate the context after staying here for sometime. Our intention is for people to feel the environment before diving deeper into doing things. All the areas listed here may require working out A solution in the context of our village and in Consultation with folks and elders. an appreciation of this is important.

shared hut - it is a stone and mud hut that has been built by local artisans. The hut ensures warm interior in this cold region.
The participant will be given food and stay facility. We have locally grown and sourced produce that is wholesome.
The hut is visible in the profile pic. It is Warm, and the cushion /mat/sleeping bag is used to sleep on wooden raised floor. It also has heating arrangement, electricity. The room does not have attached toilet, and the toilet is adjacent to the hut
The hut usually will have one more occupant
And yes, We follow vegetarian food and are not liquor fans!

Though not the first preference as living away from the Digital world is conscious choice We have made. However, We do have a decent wifi, which itself is a luxury in upper himalyan region.
Our hut is 400 meters away from the roadhead and one needs to walk up on a steep hill from the road to reach the hut. The van /vehicle can be parked on the roadside on the village square.
Yes pets are most welcome. We do have few dogs, lambs in the farm as of now.
