  Description

  I’m looking for 1–2 people to help out in my garden with weeding, pruning, and general tidy-up. Nothing complicated, just good old hands-in-the-soil work. If you like being outdoors and making a visible difference, this will suit you perfectly.
  This is a private homestead and you wont be helping with any tasks related to a business.
  
  Details:
  Duration: 2–3 days max
  Helpers: Up to 2 people
  Accommodation: Small cabin with bunk beds
  Work: 4 hours a day - Weeding, pruning, light garden and house maintenance
  Flexible hours, fair and relaxed pace
  
  I’m based in the Bay of Islands, one of the most beautiful parts of New Zealand — think rolling green hills, native bush, beaches, swimming spots, and epic coastal walks all close by. It’s a peaceful, grounding area and a great place to slow down for a few days while still being surrounded by nature and sea air.
  
  I value a respectful, easy-going atmosphere, and this is ideal for travelers passing through who want a short, meaningful stay rather than a long commitment. If you enjoy nature, don’t mind getting your hands dirty, and appreciate a calm space at the end of the day, we’ll get along just fine.
  
  3 meals a day are provided - i am flexible with dietary demands. Im familiar with vegan, vegetarian and carnivore so you just let me know your preference and ill make it.

  The cultural exchange here is relaxed, genuine, and based on everyday life rather than organised activities. Workawayers are welcome to share meals, and chat at the end of the day. I’m happy to share local knowledge about the Bay of Islands, nearby beaches, walks, swimming spots, and community events when they’re on.
  
  I can share skills and knowledge around gardening, living sustainably, practical self-sufficiency, and what it’s like to live in New Zealand outside of the big cities. I also enjoy language exchange — I speak Portuguese and have some understanding of Spanish, and I’m always open to learning new languages or cultural customs.
  
  By hosting people from different cultures, I hope to learn about different ways of living, thinking, and approaching life. I value open-minded conversations, shared perspectives, and the kind of learning that naturally happens when people from different backgrounds spend time together in a calm, respectful environment.

  I’m looking for help with general garden maintenance, mainly weeding, pruning, and tidying up garden beds. There is a small amount of house tasks as well like washing windows. The help is straightforward and doesn’t require special skills — just a willingness to get stuck in, do tasks outdoors, and take care with plants.
  
  I’m happy to show you what needs doing and do tasks alongside you at times. The pace is relaxed but productive, and I appreciate people who are reliable, respectful, and enjoy practical, hands-on tasks.
  
  This is ideal for helpers who enjoy being outside, like seeing progress at the end of the day, and are looking for a short stay (2–3 days) in a peaceful environment.

  Accommodation is in a small, simple cabin set in a peaceful semi-rural environment. The cabin has bunk beds, a desk, and a wardrobe, making it comfortable and practical for a short stay.
  
  The bathroom and kitchen are inside the main house, which helpers are welcome to use. Wi-Fi is available.
  
  The property is on a large organic area, surrounded by nature, with plenty of space and fresh air. It’s a quiet setting, ideal for people who enjoy a calm environment and don’t mind simple, shared facilities.

Garden work can be done flexibly, so it’s easy to plan help time around online work or calls. I just ask for clear communication and reliability so we can agree on hours that work for both of us. Because the cabin is small and the property is peaceful, this will suit people who are comfortable with a simple setup, enjoy nature, and don’t need constant social activity or nightlife. If you’re looking for a calm place to focus for a couple of days while contributing some hands-on help, this works well.

  There is space available for a self-contained camper or motorhome on the property. The setting is quiet and semi-rural, with plenty of room and a peaceful outlook. Please note there is no power hookup, so campers need to be fully self-contained. Bathroom and kitchen facilities are located in the main house and are not set up for external camper use. This suits travellers who are comfortable being off-grid for a couple of days and enjoy a calm, nature-based setting.
