  Description

  Would you like to experience living in the middle of nature? Are you interested in regenerative living, permaculture, natural building, reforesting and self-sustainability? We are offering a safe and loving environment for you to come and help us.
  
  We are Marcel and Anna, both from the Netherlands. We have been traveling a lot via WorkAway ourselves, found each other on one of the projects and decided to start our own project in La Fresneda, Aragón, Spain.
  
  We would love to welcome you and invite you to become a part of this. That being said, we are at the very beginning of this project. This means a lot of things are still very basic and might therefore not be suited for everyone.

  Qu'est-ce que c'est ?

  The goal of our project is to offer a platform where people can learn and grow on a personal and spiritual level. For us, this means providing a loving, caring and safe environment in the middle of nature, away from everyday distractions, so you can get in touch with yourself, the people and nature around you.
  
  We also provide the possibility to learn more about permaculture, gardening, food preservation, sustainable and re-generative living, water capture and retainment, building a food forest, natural building, etc.
  
  Beside all of this there are a lot of places that you can visit in your free time, such as the beautiful medieval village of la Fresneda, the capital of the Matarraña, Valderrobres, and the natural park around Beceite with hiking trails and swimming spots.

  Aide

  The life we live is very relaxed, with a lot of freedom to be who you are with a focus on personal development. However, although it often feels like it, this is not a holiday. We do ask you to help out a few hours a day as we want to evolve the project a little bit further every day – and we do hope you want to do so too.
  
  We believe everyone has something to offer, no matter your experience, and we are here to learn with and from each other. We also started from scratch, so let us be an example and you might be surprised by what you can teach us. We’re open to new experiences as well. We just ask a hands-on mentality and the will to learn new things. If you already have a lot of experience in a certain field you’re just as welcome, we will have some really nice unique projects for you to work on as well!
  
  The things that need to be done vary per moment but there is always something you can contribute, whether it is building, gardening, painting, cooking, cleaning, or making the place even more beautiful; all help is welcome and needed. We strive to have fun and do the things we like to do and/or are inspired by. One day you might like to be in the garden and the next day in the kitchen or helping in the construction of something – no problem!
  
  We are very relaxed. You are welcome to contribute whenever you feel your energy allows this, so no getting up at dawn unless you want to. Just go with the flow. You’ll see that a couple of hours a day is very little when you do something you enjoy.

  To give you a little bit an idea of projects that you might work on, here are some examples:
  + Setting up the garden
  + Setting up a tree/plant nursery
  + Building our own drinking water filtering system
  + Building a compost toilet
  + Building a shower
  + Clearing pathways
  + Clearing the creek
  + Designing the food forest (based on permaculture principles)
  + Renovating the ruin
  + Creating a cave-house
  + Cooking (we're also looking for a dedicated cook if you're interested)
  + And loads more... No seriously, we can think of loads more! :)

  Hébergement

  As mentioned before, we are at the very beginning of starting up this project. Although we do try to provide comfort, you will find yourself in a very remote location with basic facilities.
  
  SLEEPING
  At the moment we provide a luxurious tent which is equipped with comfortable mattresses. There is space to join with a partner or a friend, it might also be that you need to share the tent with another volunteer (you'll have separate compartments). All is to be discussed together in harmony.
  
  SHOWER
  At the moment, we have a temporary outdoor shower with warm water. Water is precious so ... no long showers :) However, (in summer) at just 20 minutes walking you can also swim in the nearby river.
  
  Important: only 100% natural shower products can be used since the water is being reused on the land. We will provide natural soap an shampoo. If you wish to bring your own products, make sure they're 100% natural and degradable.
  
  TOILET
  We have a compost toilet like you've never seen before. It is nice, clean and comfortable. Completely different than a lot of people expect from a compost toilet.
  
  FOOD
  At the moment we are preparing lunch and dinner, breakfast you need to provide for yourself. We might ask you to join us on rotation in regards of cooking. We will buy food on the (super)market every week if it is not coming from the garden. You can join us to the (super)market in Valderrobres whenever we go, which is about 20 minutes drive.
  
  CONNECTIVITY
  Although we will encourage you to leave your phone in your pocket as much as possible, we do have perfect mobile signal on our land. We also provide a fast and strong internet connection via satellite.

  Before you reach out, we'd like to leave you with a couple of important notes.
  
  NO SMOKING / NO DRINKING
  Since the project has a goal towards personal and spiritual development, we make an effort on having a healthy body and mind. Smoking and drinking do not fit in this environment. This is also to minimise the risk of bushfires.
  
  REMOTENESS
  The project is located in a rural area. This means that it is quite remote and we do not get off the property very often. You can obviously take nice walks and we may take you to see some places occasionally, but if you'd like to do more sightseeing we recommend you to come with your own transport.
  
  Upon your arrival, if you don’t have your own transport, we will be happy to come pick you up in Valderrobres to where you can take a bus from the airport of Barcelona. From Valencia or Reus you can go by train to Tortosa and take the bus from there.
  
  WORKING HOURS
  Workaway insists on having the max amount of hours and max days mentioned specifically (15 hours total divided over 5 days). In reality we are very flexible in regards of 'working' hours. Both in the amount of hours and when you spend them. This shouldn't be feeling like work, we therefore will try to find things that you like to do. We do ask for commitment in helping to build this project.
  
  FOOD
  As shared above, since we are not financially stable yet and need all the help we can get in order to keep this project running. We are happy to share a meal with you or you can make your own meals. We can provide you with healthy vegetarian food, we do ask you for a small donation. As a guideline we think €3 per meal is reasonable.

  Possibilité d’accueillir les digital nomads

  This is not a place to replace your office desk; however, we do understand that life is not free and money needs to be earned. Therefore, we have the possibility to do some online work as we provide fast internet (free of charge) and a good mobile signal (4G). We ask about 3 hours a day from you and we are very flexible in when and how you spend those hours, so you should be able to combine this with remote work. Please be conscious though, let this be a place that stimulates self-development, and where we can enjoy the silence of nature and learn from being here together.

  If you have a small campervan we can provide a spot for you. Bigger campervans cannot get to the property unfortunately.
