Description
Hi, I live on a 5-acre property in Victoria's Central Highlands, 1.5 hours by car or train from Melbourne. It has spectacular views and is home to kangaroos and around 70 species of native birds, including kookaburras.
You'll be staying in a spacious self-contained studio near the main house, suitable for 1 person or a couple.
My husband and I have spent our lives in country Victoria and over 25 years have transformed what was a treeless property into a beautiful and productive home. Now widowed, I am still active in growing fruit and vegetables and general maintenance but would appreciate a hand. If you would like to experience a short-stay in this popular tourist region, known for its food, wine and interesting history, I look forward to hearing from you.Types d'aide et opportunités d'apprendre

My property is in the Central Highlands north of Melbourne, and is home to kangaroos, echidnas and around 70 species of native birds, including the iconic kookaburra, magpies and wedge-tailed eagles.
There is a rich history in this region, including a short drive to historic goldfields, townships and Hanging Rock. It's also famous for wineries, good food and galleries, and attracts weekenders and holidaymakers.
I've been working this property for over 25 years and know my way around every task. I'm very happy to share my knowledge and experience.
I've travelled a lot for work and pleasure (now retired) and look forward to meeting travellers with their own interesting stories and experiences.
Staying at my place, you're right in the middle of one of the most picturesque areas in Victoria and have the privacy of separate accommodation close to the main house.Aide
I have planted over 100 trees, built a chook shed and developed a large garden with raised vegetable beds, a netted orchard and hedgerows that need regular care and upkeep.
Seasonal tasks including planting, pruning and harvesting and there's regular maintenance, eg netting and fencing, throughout the year.
If you have skills useful for country living, let's chat as there's never a shortage of things to do.Langues parlées

Staying at my place, you have the privacy of separate accommodation close to the main house and great views over local hills and farms.
Accommodation comprises a bedroom (queen bed with all bedding provided), bathroom, living room with dining table, TV and kitchenette (bar fridge, microwave, induction hot plate and ample crockery and cookware). You'll have access to a laundry adjoining the house and a BBQ/firepit area.
NB: Wifi is patchy due to the hilly terrain, so please consider this if you need 24-hour reliable access.
All food and accommodation provided.Autres infos...
I live a full life on and off the property, so I'm limiting this arrangement to short stays (a week or less) so I can be around and available during your stay.
My interests include gardening (of course!), painting, music, literature and cooking. I often have friends and family visiting,
Please note this is a quiet area, with mostly small acreage properties. There is state forest close by, which you can explore by foot. If you have a car, there are several historic towns, hot springs and great restaurants all within 20 minutes drive.
There aren't many rules, just respect the natural environment - in summer, it's very dry and I have a bushfire plan in place. I can't accommodate smokers or recreational drug users, or extra people visiting or staying.Informations complémentaires
