Description
This workaway location is set in a rubber plantation in Kanthavara forest, 45km north of Mangalore and 75km south of Udupi. The closest town is Moodbidri
The plantation is set in a breathtaking forest with beautiful streams, lakes, rocks and picnic spots. There are a variety of birds, wild animals, hiking/trekking paths and waterfalls in the area.

Experience living and working in a rain forest. There are peacocks, wild boars, monkeys and even the occasional leopard in the vicinity. Participate in forest conservation work. Ideal for those who wish to detox, meditate, write, yoga, hike, trek or experience rural India
Aide
We have a full fledged team at site to take care of everything. On the day you arrive you will be given a full tour of the property, during which you can meet the team and see what is being done. You can help with gardening, painting, eco work, yoga and meditation set-ups, ayurveda (forest based medicine) practices, DIY and building tasks, help around the house etc etc. We are flexible

We have a separate accommodation / dormitory for workawayer's which is open every day, all year round and can accommodate up to 30 people. 2-3 days notice is sufficient. Also feel free to use us as Plan-B in case other hosts cancel on you, we are cool with that too.
We have a kitchen that serves vegetarian meals, Wifi, western toilets, parking, washing m/c

Easy access to 1000 column temple and Jain burial site, 500 year old 42ft stone stautue of Mahaveer, beaches, forests, hiking / cycling trails, sites within the city. Close by there are mountains, plantations, rivers etc too.

Niklas and Lando, this dynamic duo have participated so well that it was very sad when they left. They built some nice things and friendships which we will remember for a long time. Tabea was a great addition to our team. She was busy working alongside the team from day 1. She is a student of botany and was able to understand what we are doing in detail especially our own little eco projects here in kanthavara. She was relaxed and happy and helpful and a pleasure to host.

I volunteered here for a week over Christmas and had an amazing experience! Puru the organizer of the workawayers is extremely friendly and kind. The cook Sona is so sweet and acted like a mother and made delicious food that there was plenty of. All the workers were very friendly and welcoming. I spend 3 great weeks on farm, while helping around on farm activities and explore the nearby forest area. This place is pefect for someone who enjoy quiet time, staff people are very friendly and helpful. Arun and puru very friendly people, communication was good.

I enjoyed my week with Puru and the team, the forest and the rice paddy next to the farm are very nice and I went for a stroll. The work is flexible, we did some weeding during the week and rested on the weekend and you can discuss with Puru if you have nice ideas!

Arun provides excellent privat accommodation in Mangalore. We helped him at his non-commercial free library.
