Description
We are looking for someone/people to support us prepare the vegetable beds for winter. look after our house and farm.
We are 7km from the town but have an eletric bike that can be used.
My name is Gareth, I live with my partner Karen and our beautiful daughter Lily who is 6 and our son Amergin who is 2. We have both worked all over the world and love meeting people from different cultures. We would love to welcome someone or a couple who like(s) spending time with children and would be able to help with childcare and household tasks. Depending on the season, we would also have some work outside on our organic farm growing vegetables and caring for the animals (we have chickens and alpacas).
We also co-founded an environmental organisation focused on transformative education. We have created a permaculture / regenerative agriculture space on the land and are involved with the international movement Ecosystem Restoration Camps to restore damaged ecosystems. We have built education centre from strawbale and run workshops, trainings and other projects from this space. We want to offer a place for people to regenerate themselves and wider nature and this includes those who come and stay with us through Workaway or other connections. We are very interested in building a community. We want to welcome people to come and stay and learn more about our work.Types d'aide et opportunités d'apprendre

The area is very rural so you have the benefit of peace and quiet. But we are just one and a half hours north of Dublin and there is regular bus service so you would be able to visit other parts of Ireland too. There is a famous Irish poet from very near called Patrick Kavanagh if you are interested in poetry.
You will most definitely learn from the children x You could also learn about regenerative agriculture, growing fruit and vegetables, or working on a small farm. We are both avid readers and have an many books on permaculture, food growing, regenerative agriculture, herbs, yoga, meditation, Buddhism, parenting, and homeschooling that you would be welcome to borrow and enjoy!Aide « au pair »
Cet hôte nous a fait savoir qu'il respectera la réglementation irlandaise en matière de séjours au pair.here

We are interested in Waldorf education and Karen is a teacher at a local, newly established Waldorf school. If you are interested in learning about this she is happy to share! We do lots of art, craft, baking, cooking, singing, stories, outdoor work and play.
Ideally, we would like to have someone/the people stay for a minimum of a month (with a preference for slightly longer) so that they can build a relationship with the children.Langues parlées

We live in an old farm house that we have done up. The property is 3 acres altogether. You will stay in the house with us. You will have a spacious room with an ensuite and shower or possibly an apartment that is attached to the house.
Autres infos...
Carrickmacross is a small town with a population of a couple of thousand. There are pubs and a few restaurants. There are several supermarkets, bakeries and coffee shops etc. We are 1 and a half hours from Dublin and from Belfast with bus routes to same.
Our farm is 7km from the town. We have bicycles that guests have used in the past to visit the local areas and the town but we don't recommend walking on the main road to town as it is not very safe for pedestrians. We can facilitate lifts into town also as we usually drive in and out several times a week.Informations complémentaires
