Description
We are Olga and Alvaro. Together with our dalmatian Nina we live in the small, calm island of Santa Maria. We grew up in the Netherlands and Uruguay, respectively, after living in the prairies of South Dakota and Minnesota for 16+ years we have now made our home in the Azores. Currently we both work part time, remotely. Good food, hosting friends and family, and exploring the Azores and its outdoors activities are some of our favorite things. We are proud and grateful for having two major projects and hosted travelers for over 1.5 years. We have been super impressed by the work of the volunteers, and enjoy their positive, creative energy every day.

Cultural Exchange 🌍
We love connecting with people from all over the world — and even though we’re not always on-site, we make time to get to know our volunteers, share stories, and support your stay. You’ll also get a real taste of rural Portuguese life in this quiet corner of the Azores, far from the crowds. If interested, you can experience Olga's life- or neurographica coaching sessions, or other creative activities such as Portuguese tile painting, basket weaving, water color painting and more.
