Description
We are an artist/musician couple with 2 daughters 14 and a 7 year old.
Carmen is Spanish from the coast of Granada and Tom is Scottish from Edinburgh.
In 2003 we bought a ruined village house with some land in the mountains of the Sierra Nevada in the province of Granada, Andalucia.
We have worked hard restoring the house every winter, the rest of the year we live in Edinburgh where our children go to school, Carmen has her painting career and Tom his music.

The Village itself is a cultural experience, full of fantastic characters and eccentrics and a good community feel.
We Speak Spanish on the whole when we are there, but are also fluent in English, so we can help with anyone wanting to improve their Spanish or English.
Also you will be in the company of a musician and an artist, so we can share skills and encouragement in these fields.

We need help please 🤗 (Available from 16 April till April 30th.)
We usually offer all the winter months as we are here working in the house and the land, but this year we only have 2 weeks to repair the wear and tear of our house, very important for our economy as we rent it in the hotter months and every year without fail we need to do some repainting, nourishing wood , fixing or replacing what’s broken, etc...to keep it looking wonderful. Please only apply if you r got experience , thank youuuu 🙏.
We need more than one Workawayer to help with this and the cooking.
As school is tricky at the moment due to exams for our oldest daughter, we have to leave after 2 weeks.
We are looking to have more than 1 Workaway, but we are asking for 1 person to be our main essential nourisher /support in the home, which will free us all to engage in the mission described above, and this nourisher job can rotate between other workawayers . The other jobs are painting doors and windows , painting walls, and general maintenance jobs, fixing things like tightening screws in chairs, oiling wood, etc. so handy people that can learn. We know how to but need more of us.
We have several pretty bedrooms and you will not have to share a bedroom. We will welcome people who like other people and are happy to live as a big family, sharing meals and work and fun.
Both of us are bi-lingual (English/Spanish) and happy to facilitate language exchange. We offer good food and good cozy lodging in return for 5 hrs work per day 5 days per week.
There's a great community in the village, you will be welcomed and will meet lots of people. You can also find plenty of space for walks, meditation, yoga classes and splashing in the streams or reading under olive trees!

We have wifi. The bedrooms are spacious to work from them, but also the terraces with the views are a glory to work from.
