Description
Hello my name is Veronique!
I am looking for help around my house and garden.
I leave in a small village 30 minutes from La Rochelle, in a a beautiful natural area called the Marais de Poitevin. I am 64 year old and I am still with a lot of energy. I am capable of working hard during the morning and then go explore in the afternoon. l rarely sit still!
I moved into a new home two years ago. With the help of many volunteers from Workaway, these past years, I have done a lot of renovations in the house. We worked hard but we also had fun: bicycling, walking, canoeing and visiting the area… And a lot of lovely evenings!
I still have a few projects around the garden and inside the house for the falls. A lot of theses projects involve working with wood and digging big holes in the garden. So I need some strong to help for these hard jobs:
- building a dry wall in the living room
- isolating rooms with wood panels
- planting trees and gardening
- creating a small patio with bricks
- moving stones to build a path in the garden
I can receive a single person, a couple or two friends willing to share a bedroom. You will have your own bathroom and toilets.
We will work together 25 hours a week, mostly in the morning so your afternoons and evenings will be free. I am looking forward to keep exploring around my new home and you will be welcome to join me on my walks, bicycle rides, or further explorations by car. I love taking pictures of birds and be in the middle of nature.
My new home is in a very peaceful little village surrounding by nature and a lot of canals which I am planning to navigate with my canoe. There will be plenty for you to do in La Rochelle and near towns but I think my home will be best appreciated by nature lovers.
You will get two days off per week so you can plan to visit further destinations such as the beautiful town and wineries of Bordeaux. I have a sister who lives there and will be happy to host you during your visit.
As I mentioned in the beginning of my profile, I have a lot of energy. I work hard half the day and keep busy with the rest of the day with a lot of activities. You will be, of course, welcome to just relaxe in the afternoon if that what you like to do. But keep in mind, even though the projects will be fun, work can be hard. However, I will always be working with you. We will be working as a team! I will be delighted to teach you French around a good meal or during our play time.Types d'aide et opportunités d'apprendre

I live in a beautiful region rich in history with many great places to discover. People come from very far away to visit this region.
It is a wonderful opportunity to improve your French and learn about the lifestyle, food and culture of the French people.
I will enjoy cooking with you - teaching you some of my recipes and learning recipes from your country.Aide

I stayed at Veronique's old house with three other workawayers and it was wonderful.
We worked from 9-13 o'clock, 6 days a week. We mainly worked in her garden, creating a boule alley or other stuff like powerwashing the terrace. On rainy days we worked inside, cleaning or… read more

You give us the best workaway experience.
In the beginning, she taught us a lot of things about how to clean the rooms, serve the breakfast and some work in the garden. The most important, she is always patient. It was a lot of to learn, to know, to practice. For example, we are Asian people, the way European people… read more
