  Description

  I bought a 150 year old house and I am new to this area. It is a quiet small town in Sachsen- Anhalt,on the Biosphere reserve Mittelelbe on the Elbe cycle path, only 10 km from Dessau. There is a bus every hour to Dessau and Köthen.
  I was an agricultural and veterinary engineer and worked at the University of Leipzig for 34 years. Before that I worked on a farm.
  In 2015 I learned again and worked first as a DAZ (German for foreigners) teacher and later as a refugee social worker.
  Now I am retired and have fulfilled a dream with the house and large garden. I'm renovating the house myself, so don't expect a palace. I have already renovated the apartment on the first floor and the guestrooms under the roof. Now I started to renovate the ground floor. I'm not a professional. I learn everything by myself, I make mistakes and try it again
  There is also a large garden.
  Next things we have to do: painting the wall, cleaning the floor and and trimming the hedge.
  My cat Milli lives with me. He needs a friend when I'm on vacation. Milli is older. He doesn't like other animals. He especially doesn't like dogs or other cats.
  I'm always looking for people who help me to renovate. Simply because it's more fun with two or three people.
  There are two simple guest rooms under the roof for people who help me with the house or in the garden. Of course, people who care for the cat when I'm on vacation live in the apartment.
  If there are more than one workawayer here, they can play table tennis in the backyard. There's a new table in the backyard
  I really enjoy traveling and speak different languages. Because I can't travel for now, I wish I could take the world home.
  I was a couch surfer for a long time.
  Oh! My neighbor is an Italian restaurant with the best ice cream in the world
  I'm a vegetarian but, all people are welcome
  
  Ich habe mir 2023 ein 150 Jahre altes Haus gekauft und bin selber noch neu in dieser Gegend. Es ist eine ruhige Kleinstadt in Sachsen-Anhalt, im Biosphärenreservat Mittelelbe, am Elberadweg, nur 10 km von Dessau entfernt. Nach Dessau und nach Köthen fährt stündlich ein Bus.
  Ich selber bin Agrar- und Veterinäringenieurin und habe 34 Jahre an der Universität Leipzig gearbeitet. Davor in der Landwirtschaft. 2015 habe ich noch einmal gelernt und erst als DAZ Lehrerin, später als Flüchtlingssozialarbeiterin gearbeitet.
  Jetzt bin ich im Ruhestand und habe mir mit dem Haus und großen Garten einen Traum erfüllt. Das Haus saniere ich selbst, also erwarte keinen Palast. Die Wohnung im 1. Stock habe ich bereits saniert. Auch die Gästezimmer unterm Dach sind fertig. Jetzt ist das Erdgeschoss dran. Ich selber bin kein Profi. Lerne alles selbst, mache Fehler.
  Es gibt einen großen verwilderten Garten.
  Mit mir wohnt mein Kater Milli. Der braucht einen Freund, wenn ich im Urlaub bin. Milli ist schon älter. Er mag keine anderen Tiere. Besonders mag er keine Hunde und keine anderen Katzen.
  Ich suche immer Menschen, die mir beim Sanieren helfen. Einfach, weil es zu zweit oder dritt mehr Spaß macht.
  Für Menschen, die mir beim Haus oder im Garten helfen, gibt zwei einfache Gästezimmer unterm Dach. Menschen, die den Kater betüteln, wenn ich im Urlaub bin, wohnen selbstverständlich in der Wohnung.
  Ich reise selber sehr gern, spreche verschiedene Sprachen. Weil ich jetzt erstmal nicht verreisen kann, wünsche ich mir die Welt nach Hause.
  Ich war lange Couchsurferin.
  Ach! Mein Nachbar ist ein italienisches Restaurant mit dem besten Eis der Welt.
  Ich selbst bin Vegetarierin, aber mir sind alle Menschen willkommen, egal welche Art Essen sie bevorzugen
  Die nächsten Arbeiten, die anstehen sind im Haus im Erdgeschoss Malern, Fußböden freilegen und im Garten muss die Hecke geschnitten werden

  I live in the Middle Elbe Biosphere Reserve. The Bauhaus city of Dessau is just half an hour away by bus. It is 90 minutes to Leipzig by bus and train. I experienced and helped shape the peaceful revolution in Leipzig and can tell you a lot about it. I was in an opposition group in the GDR. I was a squatter in the GDR.
  
  Ich lebe im Biosphärenreservat Mittelelbe. Die Bauhausstadt Dessau ist in nur einer halben Stunde mit dem Bus zu erreichen.
  Nach Leipzig sind es 90 Minuten mit Bus und Bahn.
  Ich habe die friedliche Revolution in Leipzig mit erlebt und mit gestaltet und kann viel darüber erzählen. Ich war in einer oppositionellen Gruppe in der DDR. Ich war Hausbesetzerin in der DDR.
