    Description

We are Enzo and Antonella and we live on a beautiful historic Masseria (farm estate) in Sicily. We have bought this 46 hectare property with the wish to rescue it from becoming a ruin and are slowly and carefully restoring it to its former glory. It is our dream to, one day, have a community of like minded people living and working on the property.

We are a retired couple who dedicated a major part of our careers to working for Unesco aroung the world. We, like you, are experienced travellers and would love to exchange stories and experiences during your stay with us. We speak multiple languages and would love to help you improve your Italian while your here!

There is another couple living on our land in a Mongolian yurt; Anthony and Kris. They have joined our project a year ago and together we are developing and reshaping the Masseria. Also Anthony and Kris are seasoned travellers and teachers and would love to help you improve English, (or start) playing guitar or practising yoga.

We offer a stay in a vintage campervan on our land. It’s an autonomous unit with a small kitchen and bathroom. This will be your home during your time with us and we expect that you keep it kleen and tidy. You will work side by side with us for 5 mornings a week (hours will depend on weather conditions; in the summer we start at 7 AM, in the winter months later). Usually we work 4/5 hours a day and then you have the rest of the day off to work on your own projects or discover the area. We love to share meals together and discover your cooking skills, so there will be shared lunches or dinners, but for the most part you are free to cook in the campervan. We will provide food and (non alcoholic) drinks for you during your stay. This is included in the exchange. House rules for your stay with us:
-No drugs, no excess of alcohol (not smoking in the capervan and residential space)
    - No pets
    - Preferably no children
    - Preferably in possesion of your own means of transportation
    - Respectful towards neighbours, nature and visitors

We live in an amazing area in between Syracuse and Noto surrounded by a beautiful biodiversity. This land is steeped in history and we would love for you to explore it in your free time. On our land there’s a canyon and a river and also a Byzantine church from the 6th century. Please keep in mind that we are living in the countryside. This means that the closest by village is 15 minutes away by car. Our area is great if you would like to unplug from city life and slow down. But, unfortunately, we can not drive you around to go sightseeing. It would be very useful if you have your own vehicle.

    To keep in mind:

You will be living close to nature; it can be very hot, or very rainy and the work is mainly outside. We eat mostly from our garden and locally sourced products.

If this sounds like your dream experience in Sicily, we would love to hear from you! Please write us about yourself and we will contact you for a videocall.
