    Description

Location: BUSUANGA BAY, near CORON, PALAWAN, Philippines
Leisure Activities: Perfect starting point for diving the wrecks of Coron, and visiting the many beautiful white sand islands
Help required: Construction, yacht repairs, arts and general happiness
Offering: Free accommodation and meal ingredients, amazing sunrise and sunsets, freedom to express yourself

Yacht renovation project: My beautiful Hylas 44 sailing yacht is currently enjoying a refit, so if you have marine yacht maintenance experience, you need to get in touch!!

Landscaping project: Permaculture food forest, small holding animals, Jon Jandai's easy Asian version of permaculture

Inspirations: Kris Harbour (Round Timber & Cob), jon Jandai (Life is Easy), Geoff Lawton (Permaculture)

Our project is a greenfield space within Busuanga Bay
    - Owned by a friendly English sailor who has sailed his yacht around Asia for 15+ years
    - Feels like a separate island with only water access; 10 minute boat trip acts as a drawbridge to the main island
    - Nature and Natural are the key goals
    - No trees will be harmed! Though some bamboo and nipa will be modified a little (!)
    - Concrete is horrible and will be used only where essential (and then hidden)
    - Round Timer, Adobe Brick and Living Roof construction for next project
    - Permaculture principles, simplified in the Thai style of Jon Jandai

The Tagalog language is fairly easy to pick up - if you have a flair for languages. There is no genders and a simple vocabulary. Most people understand 'Taglish', where Tagalog and English is intermixed without causing offense.

Come and stay with us and have "More Fun in The Philippines." Our project is a large, greenfield site within Busuanga Bay - a quiet and friendly yacht anchorage, only a few miles from the tourist town of Coron, Palawan. Busuanga Bay is perfectly located for exploring the Islands and diving the many wrecks. A few resorts have already established themselves but the scenery is still mostly green and natural.

The owner is Andy, a friendly Englishman, who arrived many years ago on a sailing yacht. He knows little about construction, so needs your help!! And then we will need need to create a beautiful and peaceful living spaces.

We will also be needing help with gardening, tree planting, funky art and design, handy-craft decorations web site / blog design.

Hours: results are more important than effort, and no-one is checking up on you!

Food: We provide basic cooking ingredients, we get fresh veggies delivered every week and have plenty of rice, pasta and potatoes. Meal times are set and give a structure (perhaps the only structure) to the day. An opportunity to all meet up and chat about projects, ideas, and almost anything else!

Accommodation is native, but there's a fancy guest bathroom, a nice mattress, bedding and mosquito nest are provided. I am happy to be flexible to accommodate the tastes of those who stay for a little longer and need another arrangement. This whole thing is an adventure, and the plan should evolve rather than be defined by me.

Longer term, and if anyone is feeling enterprising, there is a potential to start a micro-business here also. We have several yacht moorings, so there is a small passing trade. A bar, perhaps a bistro, maybe yoga / massage / meditation, whatever you can imagine...

We have amazing internet and a peaceful location. You can really concentrate here and not be disturbed. No direct road access could be seen as an inconvenience, or as an advantage. Truly off-grid location (but only a few minutes to a road if you need it!) Power is not 24/7 in the volunteer accommodation right now but daily charging could be a possibility. The new Solar Farm will be finished very soon though!
