    Description

Hi, I’m Alexander, a German who has been living in the Philippines for 3 years. I’m currently based on our family’s beautiful 7-hectare beachfront property in San Juan, Batangas, about 2 1/2 hours south of Manila.

After inheriting the property, I decided not simply to sell it, but to see what we can create here. There is a lot of undeveloped land, a beautiful beachfront, coconut trees, fishponds, existing houses, a swimming pool and plenty of ideas — but, as you can imagine, developing 7 hectares is a lot of work for one person!

I don’t do this completely by myself. A Filipino family lives here on the property with me, and four members of the family — the mother, her daughter and her two sons — are employed by me and already actively help take care of the property and our beach house. They are an important part of everyday life here and will also be part of the cultural exchange for our Workawayers.

My vision is to step by step transform the property into a unique place combining nature, sports, wellness, agriculture and hospitality. As a German I am particularly interested in developing football and sports activities, eco-friendly accommodation, wellness experiences and sustainable organic farming.

I’m looking for open-minded, responsible, respectful and curious people from around the world who would like to experience real life in the Philippines while helping us with different projects. Depending on your interests and skills, this could include gardening and farming, landscaping, DIY projects, cooking, social media, photography or video, sports, marketing or simply helping us develop new ideas.

This is not a franchise resort or a big organisation — it is a real, hands-on project that is still at the beginning. You will have the opportunity to see how an idea develops from the ground up and hopefully leave your own little mark on this place.

In return, I want you to enjoy the Philippines, the beach, the property and the local culture — and feel that you are part of something rather than simply coming here to work.

If you are looking for an authentic experience, enjoy being outdoors (we love hiking here) and like the idea of helping create something from scratch, you might feel very much at home here.

  • Echange culturel et opportunités d'apprendre

    Echange culturel et opportunités d'apprendre

One of the things I value most about this project is the opportunity for genuine cultural exchange.

I am German and have lived in the Philippines for 3 years, so you will experience a mix of European and Filipino perspectives and everyday life. At the same time, a Filipino family lives and works here on the property, and they are very much part of our daily life.

You will have the opportunity to get to know Filipino culture not as a tourist, but through everyday life — sharing meals, learning about local traditions, experiencing Filipino hospitality and getting to know the people and community around us.

If you are interested, our Filipino family will be happy to share their knowledge of Filipino cooking, local food, traditions, language and everyday life. There is also plenty of opportunity to learn some basic Tagalog and, of course, to teach us something from your own country!

We would love to learn about your culture, your food, your music, your traditions and the way people live in your part of the world. Cooking a meal from your home country, sharing stories over dinner or teaching each other something new can be just as valuable as the practical work we do together.

You will also have plenty of freedom to explore the local area and experience the Philippines outside the property — the beaches, towns, food, people and culture of Batangas.

For us, the idea is simple: you come here to experience the Philippines, but you also bring a little bit of your own world with you. Hopefully, everyone leaves having learned something from each other.

There are many different ways you can help, and we are very open to people bringing their own skills, interests and ideas.

    Garden, farm & nature
Helping with gardening, planting, maintaining our coconut and fruit trees, small farming projects, landscaping and keeping the property beautiful.

    DIY & development
Painting, repairing, building, improving existing areas, working with bamboo or other natural materials, and helping us turn ideas into real projects. You don’t need to be a professional — being practical and willing to learn is often more important.

    Beach & outdoor projects
Helping maintain and improve our beachfront, garden, pool area, fishponds and outdoor spaces.

    Sports & activities
If you are into football, fitness, yoga, swimming, beach sports or other activities, we would love to hear your ideas and potentially develop activities here.

    Social media, photography & video
We are also looking for creative people who enjoy Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, photography or video and could help us document the property and the development of the project.

    Ideas & entrepreneurship
Perhaps most importantly, I enjoy people who bring their own ideas. This project is still at the beginning, so if you see something that could be done differently or better, I want to hear it and get some new inputs.

You don't have to be good at everything. Tell us what you enjoy, what you are good at, and what you would like to learn. We will try to find projects that match your interests.

The most important things we ask for are a positive attitude, reliability, respect for the Filipino family living and working here, and a willingness to get involved.

Cet hôte propose un échange linguistique
Language exchange can naturally become part of everyday life here. I speak German and English, while the Filipino family living and working here speaks English and Tagalog. Workawayers can pick up some useful Tagalog words and expressions simply by being part of daily life — while sharing their own language with us. If you are interested, we can also have some fun with informal language exchange over meals, while cooking or during everyday activities. You might leave knowing more Tagalog than you expected — and we may learn a few words from your language too!

  • Hébergement

    Hébergement

You will be staying directly on our private 7-hectare beachfront property in San Juan, Batangas.

When our private beach house is not rented to guests, you can stay there and enjoy the house, pool, garden and beachfront. It is a beautiful and very spacious place with several bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchens and large indoor and outdoor living areas.

When the beach house is booked for guests — which is part of how we support and finance the project — you will stay in my own three-storey house on the property instead. You will have your own private bedroom and private bathroom, while sharing the common areas of the house with us.

In both cases, you are living directly on the property, surrounded by nature, coconut trees, gardens, fishponds and the beach. You will have plenty of space to relax, swim, exercise, enjoy the sunset or simply have some quiet time.

The accommodation is comfortable and clean, but this is a real home and a developing project rather than a luxury hotel. The special part is having 7 hectares of private beachfront nature as your surroundings.

High-speed Starlink internet is available, and we can help with practical things such as groceries, transportation and exploring the local area.

We also want you to have your privacy and your own space, while still being welcome to join us for meals, activities and everyday life whenever you feel like it.

Filipino and European cuisine. We love to cook here!
Warm breakfast & lunch, cold dinner German style but of course we can heat up the left overs from lunch if preferred.
Kitchen is always open if you want to cook for us.
