Description
We are a Cape Town surf camp / backpackers / yoga centre / live music venue situated right on the beach at one of South Africa's most famous surf spots, Muizenberg. The waves are fun and consistent, with high quality surf, awesome natural attractions and spectacular scenery all within a short trip from our central base at Surfers Corner. Muizenberg is a vibey seaside suburb 20 mins from Cape Town central, with its own unique vibe and style.
PLEASE NOTE: we do not accept workawayers for less than 4 weeks, or persons younger than 20 years old

We are a free-spirited and focussed crew who make the place what it is. Its a lot of fun, and a beautiful place to spend some time.

I've been in Muizemberg for 2 months and that was one of the best choices of my life. The hostel is amazing and there you can really feel at home! I had and incredible& unforgetable time in Muizenberg! We were out in the waves almost everyday and really felt the „surf&chill“ vibe in Muizenberg. I stayed there 4 weeks as a Volunteer and another 2 weeks as a guest. The hostel is really nice, clean, on the Beach, the staff is friendly and the job was easy. Just work on the Coffee Bar from 7-12 am or do some Activity`s with the guests. We sleep in a 4 Bed Room and got 1 Coffee in the morning and the Surfboards and Wetsuits for free and could… read more

Finishing off my travels last week in New Zealand, I'm able to say that working here was an amazing start to my gap year! The backpackers is super cozy and Jamie and everyone else made me feel welcome straight away. Muizenberg is great for surfing or if you're just looking for a chilled place in the sun. Volunteering at this hostel for almost 2 months has been an awesome experience. Not only the staff, but also the place itself is very nice and you'll have lots of time to surf, do yoga or discover Cape Town.
