  Description

  My name is John, I am aged 39 years old and a teacher. I am trustworthy, love children, dancing and music. I am the head of a kindergarten and primary school in Western Uganda in a town which is in the middle of the very popular Uganda National parks. We have Bwindi Impenetrable national park for mountain gorillas (the only only place in the world which has them!) and Queen Elizabeth national park for the rare tree climbing lions in the South, Rwenzori mountains national park for nature lovers and mountaineering in the North and Kibale forest national park for chimpanzees in the East.
  
  Our school is 10 years old, has 412 children- from kindergarten age to 14 years old. We have around 10 wonderful teachers and teach subjects such as Mathematics, English, Religious Education, Sciences, Geography, Music, Social studies and PE. :)

  They will learn about the culture of the traditional Bakonjo people and the teaching structures of our children in schools compared to other countries. We would love to show the volunteer the beauty of the local scenery and the views of the incredible Rwenzori mountains, as well as tasting our local food.

  Depending on the travelers profession, skills and interests, he or she can help in many ways. We would love especially for help with teaching, art projects, events management (such as running sport, music and competitions for the children) and help with fundraising if possible.

  Hébergement

  Self-contained room with cold running water, with a double bed and mosquito net. Also with a lock for the door. Food is available in the local market at very low cost ($0.27 for one huge avocado etc) Both the accommodation and food is around 20 minutes walk from the school.
  
  We will be providing lunch to our volunteers when is school time.

  Autres infos...

  For transport we use boda-bodas (a motorcycle taxi.) There is much time for relaxing and exploring the local area, speaking to local people and making friends within the community! There is also many attractions and activities to do within the area of Kasese. This includes visiting the hot springs, hiking in the mountains, visiting the National Parks- we have the Big 6 animals all to see!
