  Description

  Hello! We're a small, easygoing household in the hills above Torre del Mar on the Costa del Sol — me and my teenage daughter, with extended family living in separate parts of the property. I work in tech, often long hours, so there's plenty of independence and free time for you here.
  The place is spacious and comfortable, with great views, beautiful sunrises, and the coast a short ride away. There's a pool, a gym, a covered outdoor terrace for meals, and bikes (including an e-bike) you're welcome to use. The beach is about 10 minutes by bike, with miles of quiet coastal walks year-round, and town is a 15-minute walk with good bus links to Málaga, Nerja and Granada.
  We don't drink or smoke, but we're relaxed about it — you're free to do either on the terraces. We eat a fairly Mediterranean, low-fat diet: lots of salads, rice dishes, curries, soups and stews. High-speed fibre throughout, TV/streaming in English in the common room and your own room.
  The help we're looking for
  Around 5 hours a day, Monday–Friday (max ~25 hrs/week), with the rest of your time free to enjoy the area. Help would include:
  
  General tidying and keeping shared spaces organised
  Helping plan and prep family dinners
  Helping organise a few summer outings — beach picnics, day trips, etc.
  Some light driving is involved, so you must be over 26 (a requirement of our car insurance) and hold a valid driving licence. The car is a Vauxhall Astra automatic — you'll need to be comfortable driving an automatic, but no manual experience is needed.
  
  Stay would be from June through end of July, or part of that — flexible.
  Accommodation
  Your own room on a large three-storey property surrounded by nature, on a hill overlooking Torre del Mar — 15 minutes' walk from the beach, supermarkets and cafés. Lodging included; meals shared with me and any other Workawayers.
  Cultural exchange
  We've lived in Spain over 30 years, so we can give you a real insight into expat life here. The household is a mix of professions, and there's a lot of local knowledge to tap into. Mealtimes are relaxed and a good chance to practise Spanish or share your own language.
  What else
  Torre del Mar is a lively coastal town — an 8 km promenade, bike path, beachside running track, two outdoor seafront gyms, a shopping centre with a cinema, plus loads of restaurants and bars. Málaga is 40 minutes by bus for castles, museums and history. The climate is one of the best in Spain thanks to the mountains behind the town and the sea in front.

  In the area where you'll be living, it's just my daughter and me, but there are two other parts of the house spread over three different floors where three more adults and a child live. We're a mix of professions—web designers, traders, builders, and veterinarians—and have been living in Spain for over 30 years, so we can offer you a complete insight into what it's like to live and work abroad as an expat. We have extensive local knowledge and are always happy to help. You'll have your own room. You'll be mostly on the ground floor, and meals will be spent with just me and the Workawayers. My brother lives with his family in another part of the property.
  
  En la zona donde vivirás estamos solo mi hija y yo, pero hay otras dos partes de la casa distribuidas en tres plantas diferentes donde viven tres adultos más y un niño. Somos una mezcla de profesiones: diseñadores web, traders, constructor y veterinario, y llevamos más de 30 años viviendo en España, así que podemos ofrecerte una visión completa de cómo es vivir y trabajar en el extranjero como expatriado. Tenemos un amplio conocimiento local y siempre estamos dispuestos a ayudarte. Tendrás tu propia habitación. La mayoría del tiempo estarás en la planta baja y las comidas serán solo conmigo y los workawayers. Mi hermano vive con su familia en otra parte de la propiedad.

  Aide

  I'm wheelchair-bound and need help around the house with cooking, cleaning, and organizing. There are two areas of the house I don't have access to, and it would be great if you could help tidy and organize those areas as well. Some driving will be required, so you must be over 26 years old to be covered by our car insurance. This is a fully hosted position, food and lodging included, in exchange for 5 hours of help per day, Monday through Friday.

  We are a coastal town frequented mainly by Spaniards during the summer. Torre del Mar is a medium-sized town with a large shopping center that includes a cinema, as well as many restaurants and bars. It has an 8-km promenade, a bike path, and a running track next to the beach. We have two outdoor gyms by the sea, open to the public, and both mornings and afternoons are lively with people exercising. Malaga is just a 40-minute bus ride away, and there you can visit numerous castles, art museums, and historical sites. The climate here is one of the best in Spain, thanks to the protection of the mountain ranges behind Torre del Mar and the proximity of the Mediterranean Sea, which guarantees pleasant weather year-round.
  
  Somos un pueblo costero frecuentado principalmente por españoles durante el verano. Torre del Mar es una localidad de tamaño medio con un gran centro comercial que incluye cine, además de muchos restaurantes y bares. Cuenta con un paseo marítimo de 8 km, carril bici y pista de running junto a la playa. Tenemos dos gimnasios al aire libre junto al mar, abiertos al público, y tanto por la mañana como por la tarde hay mucho ambiente con gente haciendo ejercicio. Málaga está a solo 40 minutos en autobús y allí puedes visitar numerosos castillos, museos de arte y lugares históricos. El clima aquí es uno de los mejores de España, gracias a la protección de las Sierras detrás de Torre del Mar y a la proximidad del mar Mediterráneo, lo que garantiza un clima agradable durante todo el año.
