  Description

  Hello!
  We are looking for a Workawayer to join our family for at least a month, preferably longer.
  
  This is a great fit for someone who enjoys cooking, appreciates a calm and joyful home environment and is independent, while living in a small town in the south of Iceland, where nature is all around and Reykjavík, our capital city, is around 40 minutes away.
  
  We are Halla and Imma, living in a charming home with a beautiful garden in an absolute nature paradise in Hveragerði with our two children (4 and 1 year old). Halla is a doula and is doing her masters degree in social work at the university while Imma is a stuntwoman in films and movies.
  We are an active family, enjoy spending time together and being outdoors
  
  We are looking for a Workawayer who is independent, thoughtful, and takes initiative. If you enjoy cooking, keeping a space calm and organized and don’t need much direction once you understand the rhythm of a home, we believe you can be a great fit for us.
  
  On a typical day you may spend a few hours in the morning/early afternoon tidying or running errands and then prepare dinner for the evening. Other than that, your time is yours, whether you would like to go hiking and exploring the nature around us, take a class at the gym or relax in your space.

  take part in a traditional icelandic household, get to know the language, get to know costumes with locals, visit outdoor swimming pools and use the many of hiking trails around Hveragerði.
  There are a lot of activities both here in Hveragerði and in the surrounding towns and city as well, including gyms and sports classes, language classes and other social activities.
  we love to take day trips and vist new places, you are of couse welcome on those trips if interseted.
  We hope you will enjoy your stay with us and have lots of opportunities to get to know iceland and enjoy your own interests as well.

  Aide

  We are looking for help around the home, both inside and outdoor.
  Cooking dinner 3-4 times a week (we love great food and are open to a wide range of cuisines, with a focus on whole foods and quality ingredients)
  Cleaning up after dinner
  Keeping the home clean, organized, and running smoothly
  Occasional light gardening
  Errands
  Optional babysitting (only if experienced and interested, this is not a primary childcare role)

  We have an extra bedroom in the house.
  
  So we can ensure the best fit it is good to know that we eat meat and other animal products regularly, so we may not be the best fit for someone who is vegetarian or vegan.
