Description
10 years ago I moved from Slovenia to this lovely island where my father was born to slow down from city life. The presence of nature is very strong here but like everywhere else in the world this place is also changing fast. For now there is still enough peace and quiet you can find here. Especially off season (from october to june) . I live by myself and my pets so I am always in need for help.
Off season (autumn and spring) I am arranging two tiny houses and its surroundings by the sea located in a remote bay called Stoncica where the terrain is very steep and rocky. I am planting trees, making gardens and chopping bushes around the houses, doing maintenance work, dyi and household chores. I also have to maintain the property in town of Vis where i currently live. And i am taking care for my pets.
This summer i will be looking for someone who can stay for a long period of time and help me with my everyday tasks. Perhaps i will organize some art workshops (batik, felting, glass painting,...) so i would also need help with that. I might be leaving the island for a few days and i would like to host someone to take care of my animals (cats and a dog) and the household.
Summertime is different then winter time. So also the schedule and work gets different. In the summer is possible to work only mornings and evenings while winter time i usually work from 11 to 3-4-pm.
In the winter I welcome individuals that are used to live a bit wild and can get their hands dirty. I like to host people who are active, attentive and efficient. Handy and skilled people are very welcome. Another very important thing for me is tidiness and taking care of things (like tools, equipment and furnuiture...).
My guests have their own separate very comfortable place next to my place in town of Vis or they are settled in the bay in one of the tiny houses. We usually go to the bay on daily basis and do some tasks there. Working usually from 11-12 am to 3-4 pm, 2 days in a week are free and i provide 1 vegetarian meal per day. I like to host long term (14 days or more).

Learning new skills, visiting the island, meditating by the sea and spending time in nature. I often spend some nice evening time with my guests and show them around the island.

The tiny houses are distanced about 7km from town and then another 10 minutes walk from the parking. So drinking water and all the other things (food, material..) needs to be brought along. I always ask my guests to be conscious of water consumption and other resources, to keep the place tidy and carefully use things like tools, house equipment... During the winter I live in town of Vis but I still drive to the bay and do the work there.
I mostly have to chop the bushes, plant trees and do some other DIY projects, sometimes i carry some load. Therefore I wish to host people that are used to live in the nature. Good shoes are also good have. There are different kinds of animals around, mice, spiders, wasps, bees and other insects but there are no poisoned animals on the island .
When asking for animal care I prefer someone who already has experience with dogs and cats and understands their nature. My dog accept people who has a certain calm, confident and stable energy, otherwise she is seeking for attention and taking a charge of everything.

Hébergement
You will be sleeping in town of Vis at my parents comfortable holiday house or perhaps in the bay in one of the secluded tiny houses. I ask people to take a good care of the place they live in and keep it clean.
Before we come together I usually talk with my volunteers by whats app about some other details. For example about the food and routines we have. I provide one vegetarian or vegan meal per day on the day of work. The rest of the food we can individually bring to the house and share. There are some basics already in the house (like oil , vinager, spices...).

You can take a hike or go for a swim, visit some beach or another town Komiža, bike, or just walk around small town and read a book. The island itself is just beautiful to see and hang around in the wild. Sometimes if there are some events happening and if i have time i can join you and show you around or go and meet some other local people.
