My husband and I stayed with Carole and Andy for three weeks. It was an unforgettable experience that exceeded any expectations of a "Workaway" that we may have had. It was our first Workaway, and we were so fortunate to have these very accommodating hosts. They were super sweet and spoiled us with wonderful meals and even a vehicle to do some
… read more local exploring! We worked in the gardens doing basic landscaping for a few hours each day and got to dog-sit their sweet boy, Ludo for a few days as well. Located in the very peaceful, beautiful countryside, there are many wonderful places to explore around this area on your time off.
Thank you for a wonderful experience! We hope to stay in touch and return your kindness if you are ever in our neck of the woods (ie. Northern Michigan)

We had a lovely experience when Pirrko and Kimmo came to stay. They settled really quickly and did great work. Their work style was calm, meticulous and independent. We had really nice communication between us and they were respectful and appreciative of the accommodation. They left it in an impeccable state!

Carole and Andy are one of the most friendly, easygoing and relaxed people and their little dog Ludo was so kind and cute.
The work we did was different kind of painting work. The work was always
… read more well organized, and Andy was always taking gear that we had good working tools, which made the work easy to do.
We stayed in the own big apartment which was very well equipped and very cozy and private, and they made sure we always had everything we needed. There was always a moment to have a good conversation and all the time we have spent together was so nice.
After work we enjoyed exploring the area by bicycle, through the beautiful area around their home. On the days off we visit in towns nearby, they had this nice little car Twingo that we could use whenever we needed to.
We will always remember this wonderful experience with warm thoughts, and we recommend this place 100 %. Thank you for everything Carole and Andy and hope to see you again one day:)

We recognise that gardening wasn’t really what you were looking for so we should have probably been clearer between us about what tasks were waiting for you and what you did/didn’t want to do. I was sharing work with an workawayer couple, Claire and Darren from up North, who were a great help and had always great answers to my questions about work. We had a fun time together.

… read more stay in a beautiful place and have your independence with hard work you can execute the way you want, then you should go to Carole and Andy. It is a pleasure to roll up your sleeves and dig into it – very satisfactory! They appreciate to follow the progress very much.
Something else was very satisfactory for me personally: I could execute this hard work with my 61 years and had no physical problems with it!!!
In your free time you can visit La Rochelle, Rochefort and the Ile de Ré etc.
Your shopping can be done 6 minutes away and Niort the closest city is 30 minutes away.

Claire and Darren stayed with us for 3 weeks in September 2021 during which time they painted, gardened, cleaned, dug, mixed concrete and (most importantly) fixed gates. They were a pleasure to host and respectful of their accommodation. After 3 weeks, however, they needed to return to the UK because of the 90 day rule. If we’re being honest we

Their work is of excellent quality and they are both independent, creative and autonomous, happy to live independently or to share enjoyable evenings together.
We sincerely hope they find their way back here in the future. They will always be welcome.

Davie stayed with us for 4 weeks during October 2020. He was a great find and we got on really well. Davie was really helpful, respectful of the accommodation and totally independent. Anything from digging, pruning, mowing, raking, painting ... you can name it and Davie did it with hardly any instruction.
