I am a divorced single father of two children, Giuseppe (13) and Silvia (11) . I love cultural exchange, woud like to travel more and more in the near future (although we did a sabbatical year 12 years ago, sooo far away). I need for our children someone to spend some time with them to play and develop conversation skills when I am on business travel. I live in the center of Verona , just next to the Arena.

I speak fluently english, german and italian and would like to have a guest for the winter time (starting January) to stay with our children, play with them and teach them english.

I stayed with Mic, Piru, Pepe and Tea for 2 months and I don’t even have the words to describe such a wonderful experience.

First of all, my communication with Mic started months before arriving at his home cause I have to moved twice the date of arrival due to the Covid situation in my country. He was super cool about it and understood my… read more situation immediately.

Once I was able to travel, they welcomed me with great expectation and kindness. From day one they treated me like part of the family, and they continue to do so to this day, as I am still in the city and they usually invite me for an aperitivo or to have dinner together.

The help that Mic needed at the time was more than anything with taking care of Tea, the family dog, while he was traveling. He usually travels for work so he needs someone to be with the dog in the house and take her out for a walk on a day-to-day basis which is actually a pleasure to do since Tea is the sweetest and most easy-to-handle dog out there. The rest of the day I have plenty time for myself, to do some online work or just walk around the city.

Mic is a kind, caring and open-minded person who has traveled extensively and has a lot of experiences to share. In my case, I had to do several paperwork when I arrived in Italy, and he was always willing to help me, even when it meant interrupting his routine to accompany me somewhere.
Piru and Pepe are 2 incredible teenagers; they are affectionate, intelligent and funny. They divide their time between being at Mic's house and at their mom's house so they are at the house one out of every 2 weeks. I spent several summer days with them chatting, playing cards and chilling in the pool. We always spoke in English since I did not speak Italian and it was useful for them to practice and learn. They were super cool about it and even enthusiastic about doing language & cultural exchange.

The food was always amazing! Mic is a great cook and I was able to taste and learn a lot about Italian cuisine. Anyway, he was always on the lookout if I needed something in particular. As for lodging, Mic's apartment is super nice, comfortable and located just a few blocks away from the Arena. When the kids were with their mother, I slept in their room, and the days they were at home I slept in the sofa, which is large and very comfortable.

I am immensely grateful to this family and I am sure that anyone who is lucky enough to spend time with them will feel the same way.
