Description
Beige, Tyler, dogs Tirian and Sora and their flock of egg laying chickens live on a 1/2 acre lot in Miller Lake Ontario.
Beige is a homesteader, herbalist and choir leader. Tyler is a biologist, avid cook and lover of The Office.
We live in a sub-urban setting, with many cottages around but very few full time neighbours. We live across the road from Miller Lake and we would be happy to take you for canoe rides and to the beautiful hardwood forest nearby for hikes. We grow a sizable vegetable garden, chickens for meat, and egg laying chickens. We sell eggs but everything else we grow we either eat or give away.Types d'aide et opportunités d'apprendre

Beige has been farming/ homesteading for nearly 10 years and you would help alongside her to complete tasks mainly related to maintaining a garden for sustenance. We grow a lot in a small space and are interested in living with less, ecological conservation, outdoor adventures and ethical food production.
We live in an incredibly beautiful piece of land that offers many rare opportunities to see plants and animals that only exist here. There is an opportunity to explore the third most visited National Park (Bruce Peninsula National Park) in Canada. Beige and Tyler are both keen naturalists and happy to tell you about the local ecology!
We're a short drive away from Tobermory, The Grotto, and other popular destinations and would be happy to take you to see the local sights!Projets impliquant des enfants

Either a bedroom in the house, or a tent outside. We are currently working to finish another bedroom so where you can stay will depend on how far along we are on that project when you arrive and other visitors who are coming to stay with us at that time,
If you are in the house we will set you up in your own bedroom with a double bed, lots of natural light and reliable internet. If you are sleeping outside we will set up a cozy and dry tent space for you to stay in and you will have access to the house.
We will provide food for you and Tyler cooks dinner most nights. We will have plenty of eggs, produce and meat from our homestead and if you are vegan, gluten intolerant or vegetarian we can accommodate you.Autres infos...
We live very close to the famous Bruce Train and Bruce Peninsula National Park. The landscape up here is spectacular and its-'s a busy place in the summer because of that.
Look up the Grotto, Flowerpot Island, Tobermory and The Bruce Trail to get a better sense of what this landscape is like.Informations complémentaires
