  • Description

    Description

We are a small, queer family living near Faaborg on the beautiful island of Funen in Denmark. We moved here from Germany in summer 2026 and are currently creating a cosy home for ourselves, our three-year-old child and our two friendly dogs.

Our house has a large garden that needs quite a bit of love and attention. We are looking for someone who enjoys spending time outdoors and can help us with tasks such as weeding, clearing overgrown areas, cutting back plants, planting, harvesting and generally making the garden easier to maintain.

We would also be happy to have some help with cooking and preparing simple family meals. We eat vegan, so an interest in plant-based cooking would be wonderful, but you do not need to be an experienced cook.

For us, Workaway is not only about getting help. We would love to share meals, stories and everyday life, practise languages and show you some of the beautiful places around Faaborg and South Funen. We speak German and English and are currently learning Danish.

We are an open-minded, feminist and LGBTQ+-friendly household. Because we live with a young child and two dogs, it is important that you feel comfortable around children and animals.

    Echange culturel et opportunités d'apprendre

We would love to offer a genuine cultural exchange by welcoming you into our everyday family life in Denmark.

We are originally from Germany and recently moved to the countryside near Faaborg, so we are also still discovering Danish culture, traditions and the local area ourselves. We speak German and English and are currently learning Danish. We would be happy to practise languages together and learn about your culture, experiences and way of life too.

We enjoy sharing vegan meals, cooking together and exchanging recipes from different countries. You are welcome to join us for family meals and relaxed evenings, while also having plenty of time and space for yourself.

We can show you some of our favourite places around Faaborg and South Funen, including the harbour, beaches, forests and small local towns. Depending on our schedule, we may also visit markets, local events or explore the area together.

As a queer and feminist family, creating an open, respectful and inclusive home is very important to us. You will also experience everyday life with a young child and two dogs, so our home is lively, informal and family-oriented rather than a traditional tourist stay.

  • Aide

    Aide

We are mainly looking for help in our garden and occasionally with cooking.

Our garden is quite large and currently a little overgrown, so there are many different tasks depending on your experience and interests. This may include weeding, cutting back plants, clearing paths and beds, pruning, planting, harvesting fruit and vegetables, and helping us make the garden more organised and easier to maintain. Gardening experience is very welcome, but it is not essential if you are motivated and happy to work outdoors.

We would also appreciate help preparing simple vegan meals from time to time. You do not need to be a professional cook — we are happy with easy, healthy family food and would also love to discover dishes from your home country.

The exact tasks can be discussed together and will depend on the weather, the season and what needs to be done. We value reliability, initiative and a respectful approach to sharing our home.

We speak German and English fluently and are currently learning Danish after moving to Denmark. We would be happy to help you practise German or English through everyday conversations, shared meals and activities. We would also love to learn some words and phrases from your language and hear more about your culture. If you speak Danish, we would be especially grateful for opportunities to practise in a relaxed and patient environment.

  • Hébergement

    Hébergement

You will have your own private guest room in our house, which you can use completely for yourself during your stay. The room offers a quiet place to sleep, relax and have some privacy.

The bathroom is shared with our family, so it is not a private guest bathroom, but we will of course make sure that everyone has enough space and can use it comfortably.

We also have a large, currently undeveloped attic which is completely empty. It is not set up as a bedroom, but it may offer additional space for storage, creative projects, yoga or simply some quiet time, depending on the season and temperature.

You are welcome to use our shared kitchen, living areas and garden. As this is our family home, you will be part of everyday life with us, our young child and our two dogs, while still having your own private room to retreat to.

    Possibilité d’accueillir les digital nomads

We have fast and reliable internet and can offer a dedicated workspace, so our home is well suited to digital nomads. The helping hours can usually be arranged flexibly around your remote work. We are happy to agree on a schedule together in advance, for example helping in the garden or with cooking before or after your working hours. Some garden tasks will depend on the weather. Please keep in mind that this is a family home with a young child and two dogs, so it will not always be completely quiet throughout the day. However, you will have your own private guest room where you can work or relax undisturbed.

We can offer a parking space for a campervan or motorhome on our property. Guests staying in their own vehicle are welcome to use the shared toilet and bathroom inside our house. Please note that we currently offer parking only. There is no dedicated electricity or water connection for campers. As the bathroom is part of our family home, access should be arranged respectfully around everyday family life.
