Wow, where to begin! My time spent with Yelena and Mike was magical! Yelena & Mike welcomed me into their home with open arms:) and I can say that I have grown so much from the two weeks I was there. I personally woke up extra early to have the mornings to myself doing yoga & meditations by the lake and then would get ready for the work day. For
… read more the majority of my time, I focused on the Valencia garden, pulling weeds and replanting flowers, but I also helped out in the kitchen and in the veggie garden as well. While it did require some strength and a genuine effort, I found the work to be therapeautic and rewarding.
I learned so much from Yelena in the kitchen.:) we made many different cuisines from Italian to Chinese and she also taught me how to make my own sourdough bread & sauerkraut (YUM!!!) Yelena was like a mother figure to me during my time and I always appreciated our deep conversations and laughs.
Mike was incredible as well! He taught me about the bees, showed me how to use a lawn mower and shared his weights with me for my morning workouts. Mike has a generous heart and I appreciated all that I learned from him.
After our work day, we would spend time relaxing by the lake and going for a swim which was one of my favorite parts of the day!!
Oh & if you love animals, the dogs (&cats) were always around, Jolie & Gus became my closest companions. :)
Overall, I had a 10/10 experience serving and experiencing life on a Homestead and would recommend this opportunity to anyone! I feel an immense amount of gratitude to Yelena & Mike for sharing their experiences, time, energy and home with me. Much love to them both and I am certain I will see them again in the future. 🐓🌻🪷🤍

Valeria was our perfect workaway, she was a delight to have her in our home, she arrived with a wave and smile. From the first day she showed her interest and ambition to learn about the farm, and every chore she completed was above our expectations.
Val’s attitude towards us was very polite and caring.

Yelena and Mike were very kind and good hosts. Their house was very beautiful and clean. The garden was like a paradise. This was my first time at Workaway and I was unfamiliar with a lot of things, but they taught me very carefully. I was very happy that they were interested in Japanese culture and food. Natsumi was very skilled Japanese cook, she taught me how to prepare and cook some traditional Japanese dishes. We enjoyed her meals immensely and shared different cultural experiences. Natsumi enjoyed learning about making homemade pasta and other dishes prepared from our fresh produce.

I had an absolutely wonderful time staying at Mike and Yelena's beautiful home. My main duties were weeding and helping in the vegetable garden. They both went above and beyond every day to make my stay as enjoyable as possible. Yelena is an amazing cook and shared some fantastic dishes with me, giving me a glimpse into her culinary expertise.
… read more After work, we often spent time together at the lake, swimming and enjoying a drink. I was picked up and dropped off at the train station, and one night they even invited me out to dinner.
Their dogs are absolutely lovely and always around when working in the garden. Of course, there were some breaks for petting! In the evenings, the dogs accompanied me to the lake, and we sat together on the hollywood swing, enjoying the peaceful surroundings.

Adeline was a pleasure to have in our house, very intelligent and hard working girl. Always happy and easy to talk with, very responsible with any tasks she was given, and respected our privacy in the house.

We spent two amazing weeks at Yelena and Mike's farm, helping out with their garden. We had such a blast! Yelena and Mike were the perfect hosts – super friendly and always there to lend a hand or answer any questions.

During the weekdays, we helped out with many different tasks - weeding, trimming hedges, planting flowers, feeding chooks and dogs and cleaning roofs and verandas. Or on rainy days, we were supporting with different smaller chores.
Yelena's food was the great reward after the work was done - always fresh and extremely tasty. Besides of that, Mike rocked the BBQ for us and it was great spending evenings on their terasse or by the lake.
Next to that, we were accompanied by the best dogs in the world while we were working in the garden. It was great to fill the breaks with cuddling these georgous two.
We honestly can't recommend this Workaway enough. If you're looking for a rewarding experience with awesome people, this is the place to be!
Malte & Anna were a delightful couple to have on our farm they were easy and comfortable to communicate with they helped with weeding, trimming, digging, planting in our spacious gardens and spring cleaning and ironing in our house, feeding our dogs and cats all the animals loved to interact with the Malte & Anna and were very sad to see them

We loved our stay with Elena and Mike! They were such a great hosts and their little paradise was just beautiful. We've learned a ton about having a farm and all about Australia! Elena is an amazing cook and taught us so much, especially how to make a yummy sourdough bread which we were having every single day, haha. Mike always knew what to do
… read more and how to help us, so we always felt safe doing any kind of job. Helping out in the veggie garden was more fun than work, since we've gotten so many tips (and ate so many tomatoes) and learned about healthy sustainable living. Since their property is huge, there was always something to do, which we loved both work wise but also relaxing wise. Nothing better than to cuddle up with the dogs next to the lake after work while catching a fresh fish for dinner! Kiki and Arjen were our first workaways so it was a learning experience for us, we found the couple to be delightful, they helped around our farm doing various tasks from weeding and planting, cleaning the house to painting the shed we were so happy with their help, Arjen cooked us several vegetarian meals which we thoroughly enjoyed.
