Myself and my friend Regan stayed with Caterina and Mario and their two boys for one week in June 2024. They were a wonderful host family. Caterina and Mario are fantastic parents -- it was inspiring to see how they function as a family and be a part of it all for a little while. They live in a beautiful place with the kindest funniest

Although only a week, we fell into a comfortable rythmn with the days. They had work and camp during the daytime, so Regan and I took time to explore beautiful Pisa and surrounding towns such as Lucca. We also went on a few hikes exploring the near by nature reserve and mountains. Caterina and Mario were very flexible and asked that we reserve the evenings after they were home to play with the boys and eat dinner together. The evening was when conversed in english and a little italian, played with the boys exploring their curiosities and speaking with them in english. My favorite day was when Italy had a soccer (calcio) match and we watched with all the neighboring families.
I highly recommend this family! We had wonderful conversations, cooked, played soccer, did yoga, drew, saw the area, met their friends, laughed a lot. They spoke quite good english, so we mainly conversed in english, but I picked up more Italian than I expected being around the family.

We absolutely loved staying with Caterina and Mario. They welcomed us into their family and their two sons were the sweetest and most adorable kids to play with and help them with their English.
