Description
Hi there!
We’re Birgit and Gal, and we’ve been living on the sunny island of Corfu for the last couple of years.
Together with our three dogs, we’ve settled in a large land (13,000 Sqm) in nature, surrounded by 200 olive trees, in the peaceful northern part of the island, where we have big plans to build a unique, eco-friendly farm, and we’re looking for people who want to join us and get their hands on!
Arillas, the village just next to our ground, offers stunning nature, a beautiful beach, and mild winters. If you’re up for an adventure and want to help us create something special in this beautiful environment, we’d love to have you on board!Types d'aide et opportunités d'apprendre

Having the chance to experience cultural exchange was the main motivation for us to join the Workaway platform!
We love hosting so we are grateful for the opportunity of having people from all over the world (it feels like bringing the world into our home!).
We come from different countries (Birgit from Austria and Gal from Israel), and we both also traveled a lot around the world -so whether it's the language, the food, or just the daily habits - we bring different cultures, and are always eager to learn as much as possible about other cultures too!
We love meeting people from different countries, ages, genders, etc., and having interesting talks about multiple topics: from philosophy to sports, or from nature to politics- it's always great to hear new opinions and get a wider perspective on life.
We believe it can bring a better understanding and peace to the universe...Aide
Our adventure, is a huge land, waiting to be transformed into paradise – and we need your help to make it happen!
Our place, the project, and all the tasks involved - are entirely private and not associated with any kind of business activity.
There are all sorts of projects around here and the tasks vary, offering different types of activities and skill levels :
We're converting old trailers into unique, livable wood wagons full of character and individuality.
We’re clearing the land of thorns and weeds, harvesting olives (in November), creating an outdoor shower & kitchen, composter, a small chicken house, a greenhouse to grow some vegetables (for self-consumption), and so on...
There’s always something to do around here, whether you're an expert in your field or just eager to get involved and help- everyone with a positive attitude, passion, and willingness to pitch in - is warmly welcome!
Some of the tasks can be physically demanding, especially in an area with a steep slope like ours, which can be challenging, while some don't require any physically strenuous.
If you have any limitations - please let us know in advance, so that we can look for a suitable task for you and to make sure that the terrain conditions of the land are not a problem.
With some activities, we have a broad knowledge, so you have the chance to learn and get new skills and experience, while with others- we are "learning while doing" (our favorite motto!).
In any case- we're more than happy to hear your suggestions and to get new ideas or approaches – so feel free to contribute and get creative!
Together, we can make something amazing, and you can be part of this pioneering project while enjoying the beauty of the island.
So, what are you waiting for?? If you’re full of enthusiasm and looking for a real adventure - we can’t wait to welcome you!Langues

We communicate mainly in English, but also speak fluent German and Hebrew, and are learning Greek (or at least- trying to...)Hébergement
We offer accommodation in our caravan on the land.
The caravan is connected to a water system, and there is also hot water for a shower which is based on a gas boiler.
The toilet works with a cassette (tank) that should be emptied once a week.
Cooking is done on a gas stove in a separate wood trailer.
Currently, there is still no electricity on the ground so charging and so on can be done at our home when needed (a 10-minute walk from the ground).
Volunteers can help 5 hours a day, 5 times a week, and then a meal is provided, or if you prefer- to help only 3 hours a day, without it.Autres infos...
Our land is located in the north of the island, just next to Arillas village.
Off the season period, from November to May - the "hustle and bustle" is away, along with most of the tourists, so if you enjoy the quiet, and are interested to experience "the real life of Corfu" - then that's a great opportunity for you, as you can easily explore attractions that in the summer time might be crowded.
There are a lot of great places that we can recommend in the near area, and if you feel that at some point you miss a bit of a city vibe - you can always drive to Corfu town, it's just an hour away!
The public transportation here is limited out of the season, but you can rent a car/scooter/e-bike on your days off, and we would also love to help with taking/showing you places around whenever we have time for that.Informations complémentaires

This feedback would look like a Book if I mention every lovely thing these people did to me. Gal & Birgit are very welcoming, hospitable and easy going. I contacted them very spontaneous and despite the fact they don’t even needed a workawayer at this Point, they let me camp at their ground.
